Seriously. I don't even feel stressed about this anymore (except for the part where I lose money I really really need).

CCS --> Hires Lawyers --> Files Lawsuit --> Megan freaks & call AM --> Try to help --> Get Ignored --> Harass Lawyer --> Lawyer being ignored --> AM serioulsyconfused --> Lawyer & AM say "send money and they'll probably just drop the whole thing."

The Lawyer and American Mediation are as confused as I am by this.

This whole thing has been a sick, sad joke. And I'm still getting stuck with the fees for the lawyer they're paying and ignoring. Can I sue CCS for being complete morons and wasting my time with their lazy ass lawsuit?

I always though being sued would be, I dunno, more upsetting than this.

Why don't you ask the lawyer, since you're still paying him. I think you should because you ARE paying money that you can't really afford.

I don't have a lawyer - when they filed the suit they included like six hundred bucks in lawyer fees. All I had to pay was like two hundred to the mediation guy and if things aren't resolved to my satisfaction I get my money bakc. It's just annoying that I'm paying six hundred bucks for them to be really damn lazy. I may yet see if I can argue that - after i've paid a chunk of the money off.

Maybe they figured just filing the lawsuit would be enough to scare you into paying. Could be they didn't plan on following through.

*confused* they pay the expenses for you to fight them in court???
out of the loop.. for what/why are they suing? You going to be in the news or is this a "ground breaking" case or are they just trying to make a point? confused.

My entire sordid affair would put people to sleep. I'd only wind up on the news if they had a section for "the sick sad and pathetic in the financial world"

Basically, I owed four credit card companies a lot of money. The first two? Called me and we worked out (really large >_<) payments and after...six months? I was totally done. This company (MBNA sold my debt to Columbia Credit Services, which is the company I'm dealing with now) decided the best way to handle the situation was to order me to call them, do nothing when I did so except to say "give us money" and then to ignore me until one day I get papers telling me I'm being sued for the original sum, the later fees and their lawyers fees (Just over $3600.00 total).

So I got a mediator, who said he deals with this all the time and I told him how much I could pay per month and he did all the paperwork etc...and the company ignored him. Like, he's *never* heard of this happening. And CCS' lawyer is just as confused b/c they're also ignoring *him*

So basically I'm paying what I owe and the lawyer fees for a lawyer that literally is doing nothing but twiddling his thumb b/c CCS has suddenly decided to ignore all of us. Hell, he can't even file a default judgement to garnish my wages now.

It's sick, sad and in the end really quite amusing.
