The same way my parents and grandparents did. :) They bought in bulk, harassed the clerks until they were given a discount for buying in bulk, clipped coupons daily and waited patiently for specials, and only bought inexpensive staples. No frills, like Squeez-Its or Cheetos or those cute little lunch pack things. :)
Oh, and price-shopping. A LOT of price-shopping. >.>;
Yeah... Sam's Club is my best buddy. Ground turkey is $1.98/lb there... Cheaper even than the hamburger where it is easily more than hamburger elsewhere.. and boneless skinless chicken is real damn cheap, too. And, well... as long as you separate and freeze it, it lasts forever.
