one last little drabble

maderrI'm going to go curl up in bed, because focus is simply not coming to me. I did write a teensy bit more of Midsummer, but not as much as I'd hoped -_-;; I can't wait 'til my days off to write - look at what happned last time (yes, I know - started something new again. shush)!
Handcuffs
Einn eyed his lover warily, never quite certain if he should be impressed, horrified, or somewhere else.
Impressed because Cyan was a very good soldier – guard, whatever. Rehabber. He’d yet to meet a foe that intimidated the man or one with which Cyan couldn’t deal. Whatever rigmarole they put men through to work on Rehab, it worked well. If Cyan wasn’t familiar with a species, he was familiar with enough that he could improvise quite well.And the relish with which he took down and secured the men they were ordered to locate and haul in was…interesting. He definitely had a knack for it.
Horrified because should anyone be that gleeful about launching a high kick, pinning a man to the ground and locking metal bands around his wrists? Cyan was normally fairly mellow, given to sitting around and reading. He only got excited on three occasions. Einn was rather annoyed he was in competition with fighting Lark and cuffing prisoners. “The way you grin when you do that,” he said sourly. “It’s a wonder you don’t put handcuffs on me.”
Cyan dropped the prisoner he’d been picking up off the ground. He blinked at Einn, and stared a moment. Then his eyes took on a gleam that made Einn wish he'd kept his mouth shut.

Belial glowered. At least seven demons in the nearby vicinity promptly vacated it. Several more, yards away, asked the reason for their running and upon learning it promptly joined the evacuation.
Several yards straight ahead an unsuspecting demon - one of the Dukes of Hell, Belial made an effort not to remember his name because he wouldn't be needing it soon - was standing far too close and looking in far too friendly a manner at Samael.
Samael was his...prey. Belial stalked toward the pair, eyes for once not drawn immediately to the wings that, to him, burned a hot flame. Dark blue fading to pale, touches of silver adding a hot, shining light to the feathers.
As beautiful as they were, as beautiful as their owner was, Belial had eyes only for his next victim. Who was going to die very slowly, very painfully, begging for forgiveness Belial had no intention of granting.
Movement made the Duke look up, and he promptly turned white, then green, at the look on the General's face.
Belial felt mildly better when the moron took off running. Let him run. That would just make catching and punishing him that much more amusing.
And the only thing prettier than Samael was Samael in a snit, and Belial would put off even torturing and maiming an upstart Duke to enjoy Samael at his prettiest.
But he was still going to kill the little bastard.

Real Autumn? Oh - I guess you wouldn't get that there? I love autumn. It's probably my favorite season, in the end (as much as I love summer). Because it's not too cold, not too hot, and I get to wear all my sweaters and long shirts and boots without having to worry about a jacket and gloves and crap ^_^ And trees are really really pretty in Autumn before they get naked. /ramble
