Lately have felt like resuming cross stitch. I used to do it. Was tolerable at it. Would like to pick it up again.

But I can't find a pattern I like. Wanted to do a wizardy thing, but I hate that all wizards are ugly old men (though their robes are cool as hell). Don't want dragons.

So though I'd a kimono or a geisha. Hit up the ol' Ebay.

THEY ALL SUCK. Those are the fugliest damn kimono I've ever seen. Does no one research this shit? Ugh. Kimono does not = randomly throw together colors and patterns. I know that's what most white people think. But that doesn't make it true. Blah. I'll have to think of something else to do. Still would like something asian in nature. Maybe I can find something with a fan...

Okay, that's enough goofing off. I'm going to shower, fix a fresh pot of coffee, and write until my fingers go numb.

Chinese characters? =D;;;

Something that you can hang up somewhere or something, so maybe like "peace"?

I thought about chars. But i'd really like a picture. Sakura or plum blossoms or something. A really pretty kimono would *rock* but also it's all white people designing them so *sigh*

Well, you could always see if you could find pictures of Oriental dragons...?

They all look stupid. That or I'm way too picky.

I think I'll get this one when I can afford it:

^_^ I've been studying japanse for years so I'd better get it. I had a friend that loved them, and she taught me a bit about the etiquette or what all. A native would look at these patterns and go YOU GODDAMN WHITE PEOPLE GIVE IT UP.

Ahh... My cross stitch is a beautiful butterfly with chinese characters on the sides. I should scan it and show it. Tis beautiful.

Sounds pretty. A butterfly would be cool.

You know, there are kits to do a design of your own... I think you can figure things out on computer, and then it'll tell you how to do it and on what kind of cloth.

Trust me, I would so love sakura, and I'm not really good with cross stitch. I should take it up again too... for something to keep me out of trouble. :) (trouble? me?)

Dude!!! I was totally looking for a good cross-stitch pattern before I came down to D.C. because I knew I was going to be spending hours and hours without anything to do because obviously I have no life. Anyway... THEY ARE ALL SO DAMN UGLY. The patterns are VILE. Especially the geisha ones. *vomits* But yeah... it's hard to find a good cross-stitch pattern, plus, I have to have the printed ones, because I can't count stitches. Hell, I can't count period so I'm not eligible anyway. :)

I hope you find a good one!!!

Speaking of X-stitch kits... M wants to find another one of her "America"s--yeah, that one--so keep your eyes peeled.

And if the kits don't work, how about a pattern book and like... a towel or random piece of cloth or whatever. Or look around and see if any other kits strike your fancy? I know you wanted asian, but that's more or less a bust, Ithink.

Oooh! I think I've got the peacock one you had started somewhere around here. We can send you that if you want.

I haven't been looking at just kits. Mostly I just wanted a pattern, since the rest of it is easy to get.

Peacock? That sounds familiar but I can't remember it. Send it if it's near to hand. ^_^

That is not true.

I have written (and played) many wizards in the early twenties or teens who were decent enough looking. Though, I have a penchant for every magic-using character I make being a necromancer.

Oh, and then there's every male character in Harry Potter.

My two cents.

Yeah, but none of those wizards exist in *cross stitch*

Ah, I thought you might have meant that.

But, I wasn't sure.

I wish my necromancer alter ego from my teens existed in cross-stitch. That would be awesome.

I'm a sucker for kits and have found some pretty good ones. Currently I'm working on two geisha and a sorcoress, oh and a goddess/zodiac.

This is one of the geisha I'm working on, they sell just the pattern, and they have the kit
Geisha Kit
Geisha Pattern, which is currently on sale for $2

They also have a nice geisha on black.
Geisha on black kit

I've also done both of these geisha
Gold collection petites - Mai
Elegant Geisha

I like the gold collection petites - the images are under 8x10 and can be done in a reasonable period of time.
