a sidenote on vampires

To be completely random.

If vampires need blood as much as I need caffeine in the morning, assuming they're hungry or whatnot when first waking, then I *really* don't get where all the lace and flouncing and angsting comes from. I have zero fucking patience in the morning before my bloodstream is replenished. So, realistically, vampires strike me as more likely to be uber bitchy when they need blood.

This will be addressed in fiction at a later date.

"Who the fuck was supposed to get breakfast? Because I don't see it and that means someone is about to die." Trent rubbed his eyes, hopping he was just groggy and missing something.

Nope. Still no breakfast.

"That would be you, Trent."

Trent glared at Lee, who looked far too awake for 6:30 in the morning. "I thought it was Kurt's turn?"

"No, dumbass. He's gone all week on that geology field trip." Lee rolled his eyes. "Stupid vampires."

"Shut it, human, or I'll make you breakfast."

"Not if you're going to be an ass about it, you're not. And you're going to be late for your exam if you don't hurry it up."

"Goddammit."

I don't drink coffee or soda or anything, so my early mornings are just reeeeaaaaly sleepy. ^^; Like walking zombie sleepy. I walk into things and collide with walls that I swear weren't there fifteen seconds ago... >.>

My friend Courtney had to take iron suppliments when she was pregnant XD They looked like blood and they tasted like blood and she hated them so she found a multivitamin with iron in it instead.

Although I'm sure it wouldn't bother a vampire as much. Maybe they'd take something like that.

:) True. Mom's always been slightly anemic, as a result of her diabetes, so she's constantly on iron pills, but it's her potassium supplements that give her the most trouble. Eat more bananas, I tell her. :)

Hmm, I used to have a client who took iron supplements, (to counteract effects of a psychotropic med, if I remember correctly) and then also took a fiber pill as well, as the iron can cause constipation...

I wonder if vampire's have an issue with that. ...actually, if a vampire is on a completely liquid diet, maybe it all balances out...?

Blood is not very nutritious. (Vampire bats are always just a meal away from starvation.) Therefore I postulate that vampires absorb something magical when they are drinking blood and the digestion probably doesn't come into play.
