On seeing my copy of 120 Days of Sodomy:

"Damn, that things huge!"

And I forgot about this. Our thing in the grocery store is to bicker and squabble and insult like mad. It gets us lots of "stfudie" looks. Sarah attempting to insult me, after being called a h0r:

"Bride of Christ!"*

*she meant to say Bride of Satan

Grocery shopping with you guys and Jungle Jim's was so fun. Evreytime I think about it, I have that "We should do that again" feeling, but then I feel really weird because it was gracery shopping.

See grocery shopping for us isn't really grocery shopping, It's an event. It's how much of a scene can we make, how silly can we get, and how far can we go before management asks us to leave ^__^

And besides, Jungle Jim's is (I think) In Ohio's top 10 Tourist destinations... it *HAS* to be done again ^^

(Speaking of which, if you need a break this summer you should totally come visit us for a week)

Depending on how much time my sister spends at home this summer, I might have to take you up on that offer in order to preserve my sanity. Maybe I'll come visit you two around mid-August so you can buy me my first drink. =)

Hahaha, I can't wait to see what you think of 120 Days of Sodom. DEAR GOD. If it doesn't put you off De Sade forever, try reading Justine, the ultimate sadist novel. Then rent the movie Secretary to round it all off with a healthy s/m relationship. XD

Argh don't tempt me! I can't get my hands on ANY of those things in Singapore without them being censored or whatever. >_>

You can actually read 120 Days of Sodom online here: http://www.globusz.com/ebooks/120Days/index.htm

If you, uh, want to. This is not a fun book at all. XP

Justine is here: http://www.globusz.com/ebooks/Justine/00000001.htm

It is not quite as squicky as 120 Days of Sodom, but slightly squicky, nonetheless. De Sade is frequently quoted as saying it is a work "capable of corrupting the devil." Mostly about the vice of virtue and the virtue of vice.

Secretary is actually quite a pleasant movie. It skirts the edge of "dark" and actually ends on a happy note. It's nothing like the books, which are sort of scary. The movie mostly deals with what people need to make them happy. In the case of the two main characters, that would be a very, uh, healthy S/M relationship. XD I'm surprised you couldn't find it in Singapore. I mean, it's kind of racy, but I guess I am so desensitized by the Internets that I don't see what all the fuss is about. It's already made it's way to the seven dollar movie bin over here. ;)

*__________* Thanks! Will read it when I can.

See, the problem with Singapore is that every damn thing is censored. I'm fairly sure that even if they do show Brokeback Mountain it will be cut at some bits. I already KNOW they're showing it as an R-rated show, which means you have to be 21 or above to get in...

And seriously, you wouldn't believe the stuff they censor.

Man, that's crazy! Thank goodness for the internetz. What if someone sent you the movie through the mail? I mean, they can't censor that, can they?

I don't think it would be able to get through the mail. Maybe it'd get confiscated? I don't know.

But I'm waiting to go overseas before I find the oppurtunity to watch Blade I, II and III all at once, because I'm fairly sure at least one of them is censored quite a bit. And my sister insists that I watch Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal and Red Dragon when I go visit her in Australia, for the same reason.

It's always weird when I'm forced to remember that not everywhere is like the States. Ah, how small town I am.

Well, when you hop over to Down Under, I highly recommend Secretary. Also, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert. And, um, if you want to see a movie that is along the lines of Brokeback (ie, Doomed Gay Love), rent Bent. It made a much harsher impact on me than Brokeback. Instead of cowboys, they are prisoners in a Nazi concentration camp. Not exactly a "fun" movie, but very powerful.

For Happy Gay Romance, there's Kiss Me Guido, and the classic In & Out. (With Kevin Kline, insert fangirling here.) XD

(The Blade movies are wiiiiiicked. :D)

Heh. No worries. It took me AGES (and by ages I mean I only finally understood the whole concept when I hit... 19?) to understand the whole thing about how there can be several cities in one state, because before that I always thought of Perth and Melbourne and Sydney (and other main cities in Australia) the same way I do about Singapore.

...Or maybe it's that I just never thought about them differently from Singapore, although in the abstract I understood there was a different system.

........Man, that makes me sound really dumb. *wry*

Hee hee hee. Thank you for the recs! I must be sure to catch them all when I can. ^_~

(Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I wanna seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. ;_;)

Well I was expecting it to be a little bitty book for some reason ^_^;

Really, I don't think it translates as well without spitting it out in the acid tone. Oh, and your wimple fitting is at 8 tomorrow.
