And so very belated -_- I have no excuses.

Written straight into semagic, as on the spot I tend to work best there. Addicted to LJ? Not I...

"What in the hell are you making?" Kevin said over Brian's shoulder, making him jump. Brian swore and turned around, forcing Kevin back. Tried not to be distracted. Faded t-shirt, jeans that needed to be retired -- except they really molded well to Kevin's athletic frame -- and flip-flops. Kevin owned more flip-flops than girls did shoes period. "Seriously," Kevin continued, "That looksl ike breakfast cereal abuse."

Brian, who'd been about to give his handsome, if somewhat lazy-looking, boyfriend a kiss, immediately changed his mind. "Haven't you ever had peanut-butter rice krispies?" He immediately went back to stirring the cereal into the mixture, then spooned it out into the prepared pan.

Kevin made a face as he moved around the island in the middle of the kitchen -- a room Brian's grandmother had redone a few years ago in a cacaphony of green, orange and white. Beyond that, it was a chef's wetdream. Every day, Brian spent more time in it. He loved it, even when Kevin wandered in to start questioning his abilities -- though he always ate whatever Brian made.

"Rice krispies are made with marshmallows," Kevin said as though he were talking to a very small child. "Not peanut butter. Because no. Marshmallows."

"Shut up," Brian said, and resisted the urge to kiss away Kevin's pout. He was not going to encourage Kevin's tendency to be an ass. "And wait 'til tonight; you'll never want boring old marshmallow again."

Kevin sniffed, then wandered to the fridge to help himself to a soda. "We still on for the movies tonight?"

"Unless you've got a hotter date than me," Brian retorted.

"Well, dad did ask me to clean out the garage..." Kevin started laughing as he ducked the measuring cup thrown at his head. "What are you making for dinner."

"Keep it, wise ass, and you'll be in your garage eating dog food."

Kevin opened his mouth to respons to that, then thought better of it and shut his mouth. "So where did you come up with the zany idea for rice krispy treats with peanut butter. Because that's gotta be breaking some sort of law. Rice krispies are made to go with marshmallows."

Brian rolled his eyes. "I hear some people eat them with milk."

"Ew."

Fighting a grin, Brian moved to the fridge and stored the peanut butter rice krispie treats. He closed the door and finally dragged Kevin close, leaning up to accept a slow, lazy kiss from his boyfriend. He tasted like orange candy and soda, and smelled like the outdoors he loved so much. "What do you want for dinner?" Brian asked, stealing a last nibble before backing away slightly.

"Are you on the menu?" Kevin asked with a grin.

Brian rolled his eyes. "Most certainly not -- then anyone could order me."

"That won't do. How about we grill out? It's so nice out, and dad opened up the pool yesterday...then we could watch those movies and eat your heathenous rice krispies. Go to the movies tomorrow."

"Sounds like a plan to me -- and they're peanut butter."

"Unholy."

"Shut up."

For those that might possibly care, much thanks to Sammie b/c I always lose the damned recipe:

1 cup Peanut Butter
1 standard size bag butterscotch chips
8 cups Rice Krispies

Melt Peanut Butter and butterscotch chips in pan. When melted pour over Rice Krispies and mix until cereal is thoroughly coated. Pour into 13x9xwhatever (or whatever dimension pan you have) and refrigerate until they harden--usually a few hours.
