We're watching Shrek
May. 4th, 2006 11:42 pmI'm sure I'll expound upon this someday. For now, the whole dragon guarding a princess always amused me. As per usual, you are the victims of my ridiculous imaginings. I go fall over deadz0r now.
"This sucks." Chester sat down in disgust on what remained of a step, though what it had once led to he had no idea. "Really really sucks." He stared miserably at the charred remains of his armor and sword. Now that the fighting had stopped, and the flames died, it was starting to get a llittle cold. Forcing his eyes up, he stared hesitantly at the man leaning casually against what was left. "So are you going to eat me or what?"
The man laughed. "Humans don't taste very good. You're not a very good knight. Usually they last an hour or two, at the least."
Chester snorted. "I'm not a knight. I accidently saw the prince do something he didn't want anyone to see. They decided the easiest way to get rid of me was to send me to go save the princess. So the dragon would kill me. Nice and tidy." He dared another glance at the dragon, thoroughly put out that it looked perfeclty human now that it was done kicking his ass. Chester was definitely going to feel every bruise walking...wherever. If he could walk. The last toss had done a number on his ankle -- though how he hit a wall and came out with just a twised ankle he didn't know.
Everyone said the Prince was the most handsome, most beautiful person to ever be born.
He'd always thought the prince was rather stupid looking, what with the gold and lace and the curls...but until know there hadn't been a real comparison. Dragon was tall and built far better than even the knights, not a bit of fat anywhere. Short, ink-black hair was plastered to his head with sweat, more of it drying on his very bare chest. Dark eyes, the color of the sky at twilight. A silver hoop glinted in one ear
Chester looked away and scrambled for something to say. His eyes landed once again on his armor -- really just a pathetic heap of metal thrown at him as a sort of joke. "So if you weren't trying to roast or flambe me, what were you trying to do?"
"Get you out of the armor." The dragon pushed off the wall and strolled toward him. "It was ugly. You're not. It had to go." He stood over Chester, watching him thoughtfully.
"Oh," Chester blinked up at him. "Well, um...I guess...I had better get going then. Tell the princess I'm sorry I failed. I'm sure she'd like to get a half-competent knight for once."
The dragon laughed. "Oh, Mindy left ages ago. Last letter I got, she was seducing a bandit."
Chester blinked. "What?"
"Never mind." The dragon held out a hand.
Chester ignored it and stood up. "Thanks for not killing or eating me. Hope the next knight proves to be more interesting." Back straight, shoulders up, he tried not to limp as he slowly walked from...he guessed it was maybe a throne room or something at some point. He made it three steps before he was swept up and held against that very bare chest. "What are you doing!"
"Dragons hoard treasure, didn't you know that?"
"Huh?" Chester blinked, and awkwardly brushed brown curls from his face so he could better gape and the dragon carrying him around like he was a sack of feathers. But gently, as if he knew how much pain Chester was in. "I don't think I'm a chest of gold or jewels."
The dragon laughed, and Chester could feel it vibrating in his chest. Blue eyes lightened as they looked at him. "You are much finer than gold or jewels. A fine treasure indeed. And mine. All mine." And just when Chestesr didn't think things could possibly get more confusing, the dragon stopped walking, ducked his head and gave Chester a swift, hard kiss. "Mine all mine," he said, and resumed walking. "What's your name?"
"Chester," he replied faintly.
"You can call me Korrick."

Date: 2006-05-05 11:51 am (UTC)It reminds me of one story I came up with where all the adults were making jokes about dragons "eating" the knights they defeated *nudge* *nudge* *wink* *wink*. I abused the euphenisms way too much for that one.
