Unfortunately, even *trying* to get snarky with Earthlink fails miserably, as, well, being snarky successfully requires at least *some* level of English comprehension on the part of the Bangalore born-and-bred tech support drone you're talking to...and that level just wasn't there.

...nor was it there when I flat out started cursing at the idiot.

...although, the most amusing thing about that entire experience was that about one out of every four times, I'd come across someone who clearly hates the script as much as I did, and would completely deviate...and start giving me all these obscene ridiculously complicated instructions that involved screwing around in the DOS prompt, and even if they didn't quite help, at least they made me *feel* like I was being helped...
