this is going to be sad, sad, sad
Aug. 25th, 2006 07:37 pmIf you happen to be working on some creative writingproject, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly onesentence (or more)* from each of your current work(s) in progress inyour journal.
This is the stuff I want most to work on, and I had to throw in Sandstorm for fun and b/c it's eating my soul. Working on far more than is listed, but this is what's really eating my brain.
And most of these are more than one sentence...
“That’s none of your business,” Isra muttered, hating the way his cheeks burned. “Why are you so determined to pry into what I do in bed, honored uncle?” He tossed Jabbar a smirk of his own. “Looking for ideas?” ~ Sandstorm, ch. 22
“Long time no see, Ex,” the blonde man greeted with a smile, ignoring the hand Ex held out and stepping in close to kiss him briefly on the lips. “You’re doing well.”
“Hello, Mickey,” Ex said with a sigh. ~Paradise
Culebra stroked the smooth scales of the snake that slithered into his lap and curled up in the sun-warmed fabric of his breeches, then reached up to pet the one that curled lightly around his neck, a tongue flicking gently on his ear. “My beauties…"~Stone Rose: Book Three of the Lost Gods
"But everyone just laughs at me for being gullible, and of course none of the royal family will have anything to do with me…assuming they were given my missives to begin with.” He fiddled with a quill. “I’ve tried going up the mountain before to see for myself but there are so many of these awful brambles plus the ogre would eat me for lunch or something anyway…~The Legend of the Black Mountain
The screaming boy who wouldn’t let go of his dead parents, his stunningly-beautiful features twisted by shock, fear and pain. He clung to his mother and father, oblivious to the blood that covered him, soaked into his silk robes, his long, unbound hair. Tears streamed down his face and his voice was already getting raw and hoarse from screaming and sobbing. Pale skin turned into a sick pallor and everyone watching wondered that the poor thing hadn’t already passed out.~Meant to Be
This was the book that had brought him forth, made him a slave for three hundred years, trapped in a mirror to do the bidding of the human who had managed to summon him. But most humans were foolish, and the magician had slipped up. Dance with the Devil
Ailill tried not to show his nervousness as Ivan continued just to stare. "Vanya?" He finally asked, hating the uncertainty he heard in his own voice.
"You look good," Ivan said huskily. "Real good. Like I probably shouldn't touch you good." ~Poison: Book Four of the Lost Gods
“Why should I tell you?” Koray replied, glaring into those blue, blue eyes, gratified to see the annoyance there flare into genuine anger. The pretty holy solder, it seemed, had a temper. “You would not even bother to hear my name, Paladin, why should you care what I wear? Food, robes, and when I am finished a night in your company That's my price.”Black Magic: The Necromancer
Faddey nodded. “You’ve a weak heart, I think. Mayhap it’s too small for your body. If you’ve been doing things all boys your age do and haven’t felt more than tired, I think you’ll be all right, lad. But don’t push yourself too hard, hear me? Nothing too strenuous – you’re fine now, because you’re young. As you get older, it’ll get harder. Take it easy on the hunting…” Faddey paused. “As well as the swordplay. No doubt you’re doing marksmanship as well. That should be all right. But too much stress and you’ll wind up worse than tired and weak.” Chaos: Book Five of the Lost Gods

Date: 2006-08-26 12:47 pm (UTC)Good grief I had no idea that many people cared about the necromancer. Since Stone Rose ins't working, and I feel like ignoring Isra, mayhap I will try to flesh that disaster story out.
