If you find a character's background that interesting, I suppose it's cool. Though now we run into the age-old dilema of what a fantasy-verse might call it, b/c I doubt they call it leprosy. Hmm....

Back in the dark ages? dunno. These days it's apparently Hansen's disease, along with other things. I'm still trying to find pages that aren't wiki or health sites that are clincial jargon and not the layman's stuff I'd like to know.
