The beginnings of annoyance
Aug. 30th, 2006 08:49 pmSo. Finally broke down and ordered two books in print - one which I happen to like and read often enough in eformat I thought I'd buy it in print. The other I haven't read but trust the author.
Bought on the evening of the 24th, priority shipping. Should have been here by today, but not a big deal. Except that they said shipping was free, so I guess it's the handling that's costing me that $6.50 they tacked on which. Total crap, b/c I work in a mailroom and I have a pretty good idea of what it costs to ship all kinds of things from Point A to B-Z.
If it'd occured to me sooner, as it should have, I would have looked the books up on amazon and bought'em there -- 'cause then I would have gotten free shipping and I would've had the books Mon/Tues.
Not that it's urgent, but when I'm paying $34.40 for two books, it'd be nice to get them when they should be here. I'll give it 'til Saturday before I start really getting upset. Right now it's just a minor annoyance. Def will stick to amazon in the future, however, I think.
