It seems to be the week o' ranting, so we'll continue in that theme. This one is dubbed "Jobless and soon to be Parentless." Start rant.

Being home is nice-I like smalltown life, even if said small town is the hole known as Roanoke c'Rapids. However, there are little to no jobs available, and the only ones worth having are never posted anywhere. Never. In smalltown life (here at least), the best jobs are by word of mouth. So being an "outsider" family means I'm essentially fucked.

I still don't have a license, and my plans to stay at home and get one are hindered by the fact that we only have one car, which is in constant use due to the irksome habits of my work-aholic father.

I could go live with Melody, or move to Charlotte where a woman I've been in communication with has guarenteed me a job if I can just move there (sounds sketch, but I have checked it all out). Except now I can't, because of the third problem in this job-hunt of mine.

My parents. Despite the fact that my dad does nothing but work, we seem to never have any money whatsoever. So what does that mean? That means my father borrows what little money I actually had saved, but in our language borrow just means he's ganked it. So what fundage I did have to move back to PA or to Charlotte is gone. Which means I'm stuck here.

I've never felt so useless in my life. My younger siblings are raking in the money babysitting and whatnot. And what is their oh so wonderful college graduate sister doing?

Nothing.

End rant.

here's the deal child of satan

Get a job, I don't care how pathetic it is. Get one in the area and work it. Open a bank account that your parents CANNOT touch. Make sure you know they can't. This is your life, that is your hard earned money and they have no right to it. When you are rich and famous then you can hand them the moola but they need to understand that you need it just as much as they do.

Keep looking for jobs, save up the money, look for a driving school... that is what Melody did. Driving schools might be expensive but that is what you wanted to start off doing. Put your money towards that first. As for getting around if you get a job that opens the possibility of making friends and bumming rides. Find old friends and bum rides.

If not, borrowing Angela's hospitality since I cannot offer mine: Look for a job out by State College as well. If you are going to abuse Melody, abuse a roomie. Its a means to an end. Hell, my mom is looking to rent out my room and Sam's to a student who will help out with the kids every once and a while. Come up here, bum a room, there are plenty of jobs in the area... and they pay nicely. You could use your school account or you could open one up in the area. You could even make a pretty penny helping my mom clean up the house. I know she pays $25 and up. FUCK, if you came up here now I would teach you how to drive with my two months left and take you for a liscense.I would drive my ass down there to get you.

Do what you can, I know you can do this. Damn the man, hack the planet.

Obviously this comment is FAR too late to mean anything, but I don't know how much better Charlotte would have been. NC's pretty small-town word of mouth too, even in Charlotte as far as I know.
