So I've been reading Peter Pan - I found it online and have slowly been working my way throught it. I've determined that Pan is a fucked up little brat that needs about ten years worth of spankings. Honestly, thus far there is little to no reason to like him at all. Hook has only just recently been introduced so I'm still uncertain as to him (except I about died laughing when the author described him as handsome with eyes the color of Forget-me-Nots). Smee is a sicko, but he's a cheerful sicko.

But my favorite part is where Peter Pan is watching over Wendy while she sleeps. It's not these two that interest me though. It's the fairies that just walk over Peter while he sleeps in a tree, stumbling and all because they're just returning from an orgy.

I thought this was primarily a kids book? What the hell is he doing writing about fairies going to orgies? I can just picture that one "Mommy, what's an orgy?" "Well darling, when a large group of people..."

I'm kind of afraid as to what's next.

Yes, I had been thinking the newer theatrical release of Peter Pan would be good, but the reviews said it was still too tame. I suppose they were disappointed by the distinct lack of orgies. (I haven't yet seen it or read the book.)

Now that I'm reading a book I can see that every version of Peter Pan has toned it down significantly - and I'm not even referring to the orgy. The worst part about this book is that the ridiculous amounts of violence are all understated or implied. You don't immediately realized just how horrible all these kids and all are until you stop and think about it.
