It's not that goddamn hard.

Argh I fsking hate 'modern supernatural'. Outside a few exceptions, I wish the genre would curl up and die. I'd say slowly and painfully, but that prolongs my agony.

This story I was dumb enough to read (in my defense, the summary gave no fucking indication it had a modern setting and I didn't think it possible for a "professional" story written under Strunk & White standards to be that goddamn poorly written and just plain GODDAMN STUPID).

So. Now Megan desires to do a 'dragons in modern day' story that doesn't fucking suck to the point I want to tear my eyes out.

*clear figurative worktable of stuff should be doing*

Notes to self: When done being offended, please to be working on Yuletide, superhero story for Jagen's next book (if I may), and start editing LG stories. Also, you need to get packages together to mail. And mail them before this time next year.

... no? Only if you say "Mother may I"? I grant you permission!

What's so wrong about this book you're reading? How exactly are the fucking things up?

Mother May I?! ^______^ Yay! I figured I could, but I performed so poorly I thought maybe I had to take a detention first ^_~

Dude, I'm just going to send it to you. I could be completely off my rocker, but imnsho this story firmly belong in the sux0r pile. It's just...first and foremost badly written. It feels a lot like the writer isn't entirely comfortable with either english or fictional writing.

I don't buy the chars or the setting, secondly The whole time I was just rolling my eyes and wondering what stupid thing they'd do next. Not once did I ever actually get pulled into the story.

So sending it to you. All shall suffer with me!

I've conquered the first paragraph. Good God, Megan, think of my mental health! D= Although, it should make a nice distraction from finals next week.

I think we all know the feeling. I stopped reading books with a female main character because for some reason most of them end up being horrible Mary Sues. There are exceptions, of course, but they are still exceptions.

Now my problem is that I like books with a historical setting, and most of these books were written for a female audience. And this female audience apparently needs a female main character to identify with.

Oh, goody! While it is too bad that sucky stuff masqueraded as good fic long enough to pull you in and piss you off, I do love that your response is to show the world that it can be done well. Can't wait to see!^_^

Does this mean you don't like Anne McCaffrey's Pern series?

I love the Pern books. Those are freakin' cool as hell. I devoured those books in HS and college.

Oh bless you, bless you, bless you. I know *exactly* which story you're talking about, and if you can clear away some of the general irritation that I still feel now, weeks after reading it, with your own particular brand of wonderful... well, then you'll just be awesome, won't you? Yep.

Er, which probably seems effusive coming from a complete stranger, but bear in mind that you just offered to remove a substantial thorn from my paw. *grins*

LoL. Next to yours stories, as well as some others whose style of writing reminds me of yours (or yours, them), I sincerely think your rants are the next best thing to be read on the Internet. Never failed to draw a chuckle from out of me, at least.

That said, I've been following your blog and stories for quite a bit. I initially mainly only visited your website, starting bout a couple years back, even before you turned it all pink then the lack of updates eventually smartened me up enough to venture to your blog and I've visited it on a daily basis via bookmarks or basic hand-typed url (almost, anyway, since the moment i hit the m key into my browser's url field, your blog add will be the first to pop up in the auto-complete list xD).

scary, i know. which is why i figured it is high time i asked if i could add you to my meager list of friends. i hadn't deemed it necessary at first, since you so kindly made most of your stuff public but I really like the idea your semi-neurotic entries popping up on my friends' page. xD lord knows i can't get enough of them.

so is it alright if i add you?

ah forgot to mention, i like where you took your other semi-dragon story (i think it was one your knights trilogy...or all). and now a modern-day one from you would be more than a little interesting, i reckon. ^_~

^__^ I am glad my ranting amuses.

And pshaw, you hardly need permission if you actually want to see my ranting and raving on a daily basis.

lol, i only thought it more polite to ask. i actually prefer it when people do that or else i'd be wondering who the heck just added me and why if i don't even know the person. kinda creepy. but then again i'm no fic writer catering to the masses. xxD

but thank you. i'll do just that.
