Must. Not. Rant. About. Blurb.
Dec. 11th, 2006 06:15 pmDear Gods of Writing,
For the love of whatever the fuck you consider holy, do not force me to rant on angels and demons. PLEASE I HAVE ENOUGH TO DO ALREADY.
No love,
~Megan
P.S. The Peanut Gallery, aka my readers, will please to be keeping the smartass to themselves
P.P.S. I'm already rolling my eyes at this goddamn story. Mostly because it's written in first person and not terribly well. I've said it before, I'm going to say it a million times more - I'm too picky. I know this. There's being selective, and then there's picky. It's ultimately pr0n, why do I care so much? =_= Still - angels and demons, come on. Casino idea is cute, I sort of like it. Has a Palace of Keys vibe, love the whole 'don't know what you wish for' but I totally wasn't buying the voice. Maybe I should learn to eat first, starving to death always makes me cranky. Argh, the world needs something fresh with angels and demons. Or even to remember wtf they are -- beings created to serve god (though the various schools differ on whether its angels or humans which have free will, which is always a fun debate, and given that it was Lucifer who told god "Yo, bitch, not taking yo' shit - I's out, hear?" I tend to go with the 'angels have free will' school of thought, not that I'm terribly religious but you know - if I had to take a side). I crashed and burned with Sixpence, I never could settle on an angel story that I liked, alas. Good Omens pretty much makes Megan happy, really, but I'd like to see something that was slashy. That didn't involved abject stupidity or gratiutous angsty sometimes violent sex (why is bdsm fashionable? it's so goddamn popular it's becoming boring and isn't that sad). I mean, playing on the whole servants of god/fallen angels thing, people tend to focus on the angel more, or on a demon that's not quite evil or whatever. I'm all about shades of gray but sheesh...ah, now that would be interesting. Maybe a demon that's a little much for even Hell to tolerate. Demons out to recapture it, angels get in on it - I bet humans created it, that would amuse me.
Oh bloody fucking hell.
