'twas a long but good one.
Went to Virginia today, my sister and I cruised the mall (on dad's money, which is always fun), bought some candles (I found a flannel scented one which is lots of fun), some candy and then grabbed a couple of peppermint mochas to drink on our way to Books a Million. Wound up blowing the rest of my money on Petshop 4, Demon Diary 5, and then got Dr. Faustus and a collection of old satires including one of my all time favorites pieces of writing - A Modest Proposal. That essay make me happy. After that we just bought more coffee and chilled their reading until my parents finished up at Sam's club.
And tomorrow we got to B & N, for which I have $50.00 in gift certificates. Mmmm....books are all I need in this world.
Work start out sucktastic. Not only was the store in shambles, one of my workers was being pissy about he "liked and didn't like to do" and the other decided to have a temper tantrum about working tonight when he'd barely been given any hours. After hearing that whine fest I told him "if you're going to be a fucking child, then just get out of my store." So he doesn't have a job anymore.
Then the pissy worker realized he'd crossed the line, he apologized and then worked his ass off the rest of the night. Added bonus, my favorite closer switched with the less steller closer I'd been stuck with. Even better, a couple of cops dropped in to order food and I got to terrify them by being my loud, rambunctious self and calling my workers "slaves." So things started out poorly but the last two hours we did nothing but clean up and goof off.
Now I need to check my email, the one thing I haven't been able to do today beyond managing one reply to skylark. This is going to take awhile. But that's what Smirnoff Ice is for, so it's okay.
