"cum" is a non-standard, pornographic spelling, and in my opinion it just makes the entire thing seem dirtier. I tend to view it along the same lines as scenes that use "pussy" or "cunt". If you want to write SMUT those are the words you use.

If you want to write an NC-17 sex scene, use "come". It's a lot more... I hesitate to say wholesome--cleaner maybe? Whatever; it looks/sounds better. And gives me a bit more respect for the author/editor.

LOL I was never sure which spelling was correct, to be honest. Assumed "cum" was the noun. Didn't really matter that much to me because I don't think I ever used the word o_O; I don't want my NC17 scenes to be THAT crude. I usually veer away from mentioning any, erm, bodily fluids.

I am in complete agreement on the spelling of come. It is come. Not cum. However, I turned 15 a week ago (and before you ask, NO, I did not read illegal 'stuff,' or NC-17. Those are not the only places it is mentioned.) And I don't think a week has changed me that much from the mindset of a 14 year old. Leading in to my annoyance... not all of us at age 14, are 'giggling' imature primadonnas.

Furthermore, this is not an attacking comment ;) I love your stories (first found you on fictionpress) though I imagine you hear that often. I just though it'd be nice if you were aware of how close-minded it makes you seem to stereotype.

Aha, sorry. I'm not trying to stereotype at all. It's an old phrase of the fandom, at least it was when I joined it. No different than every making dumb blonde jokes about me. Beyond that, I remeber 14. Precious few of us were all that mature ^_~

Ah, that makes sense...Just plain -weird- some of the phrases used in fandoms. Makes little sense some of the abbreviations and the like ;) I guess I figured it was something like that, I dunno why I went through posting my comment...Well, in any case, I appreciate the placating response ;)
