So.

[livejournal.com profile] tygati made a crack about naughty tail! Tau. I demanded drabble. Tygati would not put out indulge me. So I said I would trade. She said Pyotr, Sable, or Kin.

She gets two out of three, and only b/c Pyotr is still being annoyingly silent.

Worship

Kin closed his eyes, feeling the wind, the water, all the things tied to them. As naturally as breathing. The air and the water whispered to him in ways no mortal would ever hear or know was possible. It was heady, and in no small way frightening. He'd always known he'd live a long time, but certainly not forever as a god.

The sound of a door opening, followed by the rustle of silk and feet on wood, had him turning around and Kin's thoughts immediately died. Every fiber of him focused solely on the man who'd just emerged from his quarters. Their quarters.

Kyo wore only a dark blue morning robe, the sleeves and bottom decorated with dark storm clouds, and only a simple silk cord belt held it closed. His hair was still mussed from sleep, eyes not quite as bright as they would be when he was fully awake. Not in a million years would Kin have guessed the sad little boy in that warehouse would turn out to be the breathtaking man before him now.

Crossing the deck, Kin caught the hand held out to him and kissed the fingers, the knuckles, then turned it to press his lips to the delicate wrist, hot where blood pulsed. Kyo smiled faintly at him and leaned in for a proper kiss that Kin immediately gave, releasing the hand he held to rest both on Kyo's hips. Kyo's mouth was warm and sweet, so different from the cool, tart words that most often came from it. Licking those fine, pale lips as he pulled away, Kin nuzzled the soft skin of Kyo's cheek and let his hands wander, caressing and teasing, rubbing the silk into the warm flesh beneath. Kyo remained silent, content to let Kin do as he pleased, and Kin took full advantage of the permission wordlessly given.

He easily sought and found the knot holding the cord belt closed, quickly undoing it and letting it fall forgotten to the deck. Kyo's head tilted back on a soft sigh as Kin's hand slipped beneath his robe and Kin took that as an invitation to lap at the marks he'd on the bared throat the previous night.

"Kinni..." Kyo's head fell back even further, baring him completely to Kin's attentions. Humming at the taste of his lover's skin, the flavors of the two of the that lingered, Kin finally shifted his attention from Kyo's throat to push the robe from his shoulders, splay his hands over shoulders and chest, exploring and relearning the lines of the pale, perfect skin and lightly-toned muscles beneath. One hand slipped briefly to feel the startlingly softness of Kyo's hair, and Kin mourned briefly that it was short, free of decoration.

But the rest of Kyo was too tempting to ignore and Kin did not bother to even try resisting, mouth following the path of his hands to taste the soft, flawless skin, making the muscles beneath jump, feel Kyo shiver in his arms. When Kyo attempted to return the touches, Kin caught his arms and held them still until Kyo relented and simply held still. Smiling faintly, Kin returned to his exploration, lavishing attention upon every bit of skin he could reach with hands or mouth, slowly working his way down, going to his knees. He licked and nibbled at the smooth, flat stomach while his hands traced from ribs to hips, backside and down along Kyo's thighs. He was intoxicated by this man he was finally allowed to touch as he pleased. That only he had and would ever touch.

Hands landed on his shoulders, gripping lightly. "You treat me like I'm fragile," Kyo said with faint amusement. "One would think I've proven that I'm most certainly not."

Kin nipped lightly at Kyo's stomach, then slowly rose again, trailing kisses the length of Kyo's torso, along his shoulders and throat to his jaw line before finally claiming Kyo's mouth with a deep, hungry kiss. "Fragile? No." He cupped the back of Kyo's head and angled it just so for a deeper kiss, breaking away only when breathing became necessary, returning his attention to Kyo's too-tempting throat. "Precious. You were made to be worshipped, Koori."

Kyo rippled in his arms with surprise at the words, his cheeks taking on the faintest tinge of pink. He shook his head, striving for humor. "Gods are worshipped by people, Kinni, not other gods."

"Hmm..." Kin said, smiling faintly. "I have never worshipped gods and I don't intend to start now." He stroked his thumb along one fine cheekbone. "All I worship is you, Koori."

Kyo's eyes went suddenly bright, and he began to furiously blink back the tears that threatened, throwing his arms around Kin's neck and dragging him down for a kiss that left Kin dizzy and oh so sweetly aching in a way that only Kyo, Koori, could ever ease.

Off Limits

Chris stifled a yawn as he slid onto a barstool, blocking out the racket of the Tantalus around him through sheer habit. Only the fact he enjoyed these occasional fine dinners with Sable kept him from finding the nearest bed and falling into it for an indeterminate period of time.

The bartender smiled in greeting and set a glass of dark beer in front of him.

"Thanks," Chris said idly. "Did Sable leave me any messages?"

"He said he'd be running late, sir. A difficult problem came up in his meeting."

"Thanks again," Chris replied. He waited until the bartender had gone off to tend a customer before rolling his eyes. A difficult problem.

Given Sable treated being owner of various businesses as well as the owner of three hotels as a grand lark, the idiot was probably just having a fine time terrifying unsuspecting board members. Honestly. Sable had no reason to do the work himself, he just liked to play CEO the way people liked to play board games. Chris was giving him ten minutes and then Sable was being ditched in favor of a bed. That'd serve the demon right. He took a deep swallow of beer to hide the fact he was trying not to smile.

"I'll have one of whatever he's got," a deep, smooth voice said as a figure slid into the seat next to him.

From sheer boredom and curiosity, Chris turned to see who the stranger was. Handsome, he supposed. Bright hazel eyes, somewhat messy dark auburn hair. Jeans, black leather jacket, all of it quality enough the man probably liked to look casual because it amused him to do so. Bloody hell, he'd been a detective too long. Suppressing an urge to roll his eye at himself, Chris lost interest in the stranger and turned back to his own beer.

"Waiting on someone?" the man asked.

Chris wanted badly to roll his eyes, suddenly knowing exactly what was going on. The man must recognize him as Sable's lover -- he was completely normal, so wouldn't know Chris was a consort -- and wanted some sort of in. It had been happening more and more often, people always hoping to get into the good graces of Sable Brennus by way of his more laid-back seeming lover.

Not that it ever worked. Just because Sable interfered in his work constantly didn't mean Chris did likewise.

He was bored, however, and the man had at least been polite so far. "Not for much longer," he said lightly.

The man flashed him a disbelieving look. "I can't believe anyone would keep you waiting."

Chris blinked. Wait a minute. There was no way...

But a second look confirmed it. Chris almost laughed. "You must be from out of town."

The man frowned. "Am I that glaringly out of place? How depressing." He smiled in wry amusement. "Guess I'm not off to a great start then, am I?"

"Well..." Chris began, but never got a chance to finish as the man was suddenly grabbed by the back of his overpriced black leather jacket and thrown bodily across the room, landing in a crowd of people just stepping inside.

Sable glared at the unfortunate man, who paled and fled.

Around them the regulars shook their heads and laughed, and in a matter of seconds the bar had resumed its usual noise and bustle.

Chris rolled his eyes. "You need to stop overreacting. The poor guy didn't have a clue. Honestly, he seemed nice. There was no reason to terrify him."

Sable growled an unintelligible reply and yanked Chris close, kissing him hard. "Mine."

"Then the next time you arrange a date, you stupid demon - don't be late!" Chris smacked him hard in the chest, but allowed Sable to give him another kiss before they finally went off to enjoy their dinner.
