Worth Watching

After so many years, Corinos rather thought he should be more used to the snakes.

But seeing them wrap around Culebra wherever he went, whatever he was doing, was one thing.

Somehow he hadn’t expected ‘wherever’ and ‘whatever’ to include more intimate activities. Nothing was more disconcerting than brushing against scales where flesh was expected.

Or finding a snake watching you in lazy curiosity while…

Corinos shook his head to clear the memory away.

Somehow it didn’t help at all that particular snake had been one of the more venomous ones. Not that it would hurt him, or Culebra would let it hurt him…but still, it wasn’t quite fair he couldn’t tell the snake to get out of bed while he and Culebra were using it because the snake had a nasty bite.

The sound of feet in grass forced him to open his eyes, but he knew the tread and so felt no need to move. A second later Culebra leaned over him, blocking the sun but offering him a far finer view – a god still wet from a recent dip in the lake, clothes clinging to skin he hadn’t properly let dry first.

Corinos reached up to bury his fingers in Culebra’s hair, tugging him down to kiss softly, his other hand exploring skin that was still cool from the lake but quickly warming, smooth as alabaster but soft as silk.

He only jumped a bit when he felt something that was most definitely not Culebra brush across his chest…slither across his chest…to settle quite comfortably across his throat. He could feel the snake’s head rest on his shoulders, and a second brushed across his hand as it slid from Culebra’s neck down his body to the grass.

Culebra laughed softly against his mouth. “They like you, you know. Quite a bit. A special snake indeed, to be so very close to me.”

“Be that as it may, my heart and soul…” Corinos twitched as another snake, larger than the first, slithered across his legs before coiling up nearby in the grass. “I am not used to a constant audience. Any audience.”

A hand stroked fondly through his hair, Culebra’s single gray eye bright with mirth and affection. “They mean no harm.”

“Since when do you like being watched?” Corinos groused, but with no heat. If Culebra did not mind the snakes, he would not mind the snakes.

At least, he would try very hard not to mind the snakes.

Culebra leaned down and kissed him heatedly, hungrily, no small amount of possessiveness in it. “Since I liked showing you off, my bodyguard. Since I know that while anyone may see, only I can touch.”





A Slight Fondness

Kin stifled a yawn as the Kumiko finally came into sight. He might be a god now, but that just made it harder to blend in and seem normal – and being half mermaid, he’d never looked terribly normal to begin with.

Nor was he comfortable with the glamours Kyo used with such ease.

He was a sailor, through and through, and it was long past time this sailor returned to his ship and sea and lover.

That made him wonder what Kyo had been up to all day, both eager and dreading the return to his homeland. Hopefully the brat had been discrete, whatever he’d been about. They’d parted ways outside the harbor to tend to different matters, healing their Land of Storms in small but vital ways, soothing both the land and their children in ways that were unnoticeable but still vital. For it, Kundou would be stronger and more vibrant than ever, no chance now of ever failing now that its gods were restored.

He sighed in relief as he finally boarded his ship, grateful to leave the noise of the harbor behind, eager to find his breathtaking, beautiful prince and lose himself there. If he could bring himself to be bothered, Kin might be mortified by how swiftly he’d become addicted to Kyo, how badly he needed the man now…but he could only be happy that at last Koori was his, and always would be.

The soft swish and rustle of silk met his ears as he entered his quarters, and Kin quickly found his lover in the confines of the cabin, sitting at the single small table.

He drew a sharp breath. “Koori…”

“I guess you approve,” Kyo murmured. He was dressed – barely – in a dressing gown of palest green, decorated only with abstract, swirling gold embroidery, one sleeve just sliding off one pale shoulder, the skin perfect and fine, begging a touch.

But it was the hair that had captured Kin’s attention. When they’d first left Kundou, what seemed ages and ages ago now, Kyo had cut it all off. Even then, when he’d wanted nothing more than to wring the prince’s neck, Kin had mourned the loss of that long, beautiful hair decorated with glittering jewel beads.

It was long again, just reaching his waist, spilling about wildly, the sun coming in the windows catching on esmeralda and saphir and diamond beads. Kin barely remembered crossing the room, interested only in taking up the soft strands of hair, running his fingers through them, playing with the beads.

“I had no idea you were so enamored of my hair, Kinni,” Kyo said in amusement, but he reached up a hand to caress Kin’s face, then gently tugged him down for a kiss. “You should have said something sooner.”

Kin shrugged. “You seemed to like it short.”

“I like that look on your face more,” Kyo replied, and twined his arms around Kin’s neck, dragging him down, kissing him deeply. “Much, much more. Take me to bed.”

Growling low, hand lingering a moment longer in that beautiful hair, Kin did precisely as he was told.

Oh, and yes, I think they're my favorites yet. *___* Sooo pretty and the snakes, I love. The snake-voyeurism amuses me far too much, and so did this line [Nothing was more disconcerting than brushing against scales where flesh was expected.] Poor Corinos, though not really. ^______^

aha, im afraid my imagination ran away out of control and i was expecting the snakes to not only be voyeurs but participate in the action, sort of as an extension of Culebra... haha poor Corinos indeed. wonder whether Ruisenor takes up the bed too.

Kin/Kyo are cute, especially with the hair fetish and Kyo willing to put up with it for the results it gets him.

And it really was pretty, too... it was anbout how I doubt that pretty much anyone really gets sick of any of your characters, some off-handed observation of the fact I've actually been commenting a lot lately as opposed to my usual lurking, and a minor discourse I decided to type about how wonderful and awesome you are for giving us so many drabbles and stories and just sheerly for writing so much awesomeness, and pronbably some other adoring reader comments.

Only, it was written nicer. And Lj ate it. Because it was mean. ;-; (I really am sad about this)

...you know what, maybe I'll just re-read the drabbles. 'Twill probably cheer me up.

(And despite everything, this new comment is almost/about as long as the previous one I'd written. How sad. I go through really rambly phases at times. I seem to be in the midst of one. My advance apologies.)

I will never ever in a million years get tired of reading Kin and Kyo. They are soooooo damned adorable. *______________* (And I agree with Kin, I like Kyo's hair long too. *purrs* So pretty.

*snickers* And poor Corinos. XD At least he doesn't have performance anxiety? That is so cute in such a voyeristic way. XD I can just picture all these snakes thinking, "oh wow, that looks cool. Awwwww, look how happy he's making Culebra!" ^__^!!
