Still Reading Monte Cristo
Mar. 6th, 2007 05:57 amAnd probably will be forever, as if I'm lucky I might get an hour a week total to read it.
Must all read Turn of the Screw and get to work on more reviews this week. If I added reviews to my website, would anyone care? I find I like doing them, it makes me feel I'm putting all my reading to more use. Hmm. Iris books are up this week, though I'll do more torquere over the weekend.
In regards to Monte Cristo, if Franz crushes on the Count any harder? He's going to be walking around with a boner. For serious. I was way too young the first time I read this, I missed all the fun stuff.
I about died laughing when Dumas mentioned Lord Ruthven and that Dantes resembles him. Ahahahaha. For all you vampire fans that might not know, Lord Ruthven was the book that made them popular and set the trend of vampires being handsome nobles. It was attributed to Lord Byron, but was written by his doctor Polidoriwho totally wanted Byron liek woah but lacked a spine who basically hated Byron (who really was kind of a major ass). Embrace fans might note the name, and if you care the 'hero' of that story was a young man named Aubrey.
Wow, rambly this morning.
Mommy, I don't want to go to work *stamps foot*

Date: 2007-03-08 11:09 pm (UTC)Oh, yes, we're not forgetting Beppo. That cracked me up. I'm at about the same point ^__^ Though a little further, I think, where they go to the country house he's bought.
I've seen...the first three dvds or so. I think it starts getting a little whacky there, but not sure. It's ridiculous with the subtext, seriously.
