So I've mentioned this before but never really had to stoop to it. I may now, just b/c if I'm going to get my plans off the ground I need $$$ to do it, and I think it's obvious by this point that pizza isn't cutting it.

My manga collection is pathetic; I'm too poor to collect as much of it as I would like. If I'd made it to Japan like I wanted this wouldn't be a problem but I won't go down that bitter road today...

Anyway, I was going to put some of my manga up for sale on ebay but I thought I'd try here first. For now I've got 1-9 of d.n.angel, 1-6 of rurouni kenshin, and (though it hurts me) 1-6 of Cantarella to sell. I'm not sure if anyone actually wants these, but they're the ones I know I can manage to part with for now. I have some single volume stuff as well, but that requires my going through it all to get the names and all down. Probably do that tomorrow. If you want any of the ones above though, lemme know.

Whats's Cantarella? I've never heard of it. How much are you selling these for? I love manga but I next to never buy it ^^

Ah, sorry. I guess details would be handy. It's a series by You Higuri, I think her latest. It's mostly het but there are scads of slashy moments and her art is gorgeous - you may know Ludwig or Gorgeous Carat? You can read more about it here (http://www.mangabonbons.net/au2/higuri_2.html#cant). She's one of my top three mangaka.

Prices I'll negotiate, mostly I wanted to see interest. Canta would go for about $36.00, DNAngel I'd like $40.00 but I'm flexible. Kenshin is rather worn, I'd probably give it up for about $20.00

Those are awesome prices ^^ And I did some quick research and the art *is* really beautiful and the story seems very interesting.

I hate spending money but I'm such a sucker for used stuff. Hell, I'll never get an opportunity like this again and I've been meaning to read some new manga cause it's been ages since I've read any.

I'll buy it ^_^ I may or may not have the money just yet, but I will soon-ish if I don't.

Your friends seem to be not in agreement with the selling manga concept. ^^ Are there other things you could do for money? Short stories for $5 or something?

Well, some artists do comissions. For a few dollars they'll send you a sketch or something. I'm not sure if you draw but I know you write, so you could do a literary version. For a few dollars you'll write a story for them, within doable limits, of course.

You could even get friends who don't want the money but who do want to help out, to help with the writing so it's not just you ^^

I think it certainly could. I know I'd buy, cause around $5 really isn't that much and it's cool to have a story written for you ^^ I can't say how other people would take to the idea, though. But it's something to think about for someday.

And damn. I can't read japanese. Nor do any of my friends. I'm tempted to buy them just for the art... And especially since this really would be the only time I'd ever consider buying these.

But then I also really want to buy Warning: Contains Language and it's the exact same price. ^^;; Damnit, but Gaiman always wins. Sorry =/ But I'm sure someone else will want to buy.
