for days I accomplish nothing, and then today I wake up and despite goofing off here and there I've 17 pages into a story and likely to get close to 25 (but not finish, oh no, god forbid) before I finally have to go to bed.

There is no rhyme or reason.

This is also why nano is usually too easy for me these days ^^;; I can, when I really try, write 10,000 words in a day, give or take (and I don't mean that as braggind >_>;; I really don't. I just really do spend all my time writing, so I guess it shows?).

Something like that, though I tend to be too lazy. I think 30,000 was the most I managed in a week, and that was most of Burning Bright ^^;;

::laugh:: So for a challenge, go for the 50k in one week. Especially since you're going to be busy for some of November. ^___^ And then next year, go for National Novel Writing Weekend. And the year after that, NaNoWriDay.

Breaks down to 35 words/minute, if you go for 24 hours straight. ^____^

I think my fingers just joined my brain in crying from pain.

::beams:: Well, if you take 8 hours for sleep, half and hour for breakfast and lunch respectively, an hour for dinner, and maybe another hour for necessary breaks (bathroom, etc.)... that would give you thirteen hours to write. ^___^ 64 words a minute. ::nods:: Physically possible. ^__~

::curious:: What story got 17 pages?

You just like inflicting pain upon my poor person.

A thank you story for Sky ^^; Cause she is awesome with the SMPness, yus ^__^

::grin:: I've heard myths of people who can type 90 words/minute? ^___^ I barely break 50 most of the time, so obviously I would fail at NaNoDay.

Oh, good! ^___^ I'm glad you are writing for her because she totally deserves it for that massive piece of sparkly.

eh. I can type pretty fast, but writing and typing aren't really the same thing? I stop and start a lot, and have to change things, and even when I don't do that it's not as easy as just typing something up.

I fail to see how this is a bad thing.

More pretty stories can only be good..right?

I meant it more as an amusing thing, really ^^

I think I managed over 12,000 in a weekend on a NaNo retreat last year, and that was with a lot of hair pulling and long walks outside, but... I can't imagine trying to do that around work. *marvels*
