I feel like babbling, yet I really have nothing much to say.
Got Windserpent Saga today. May say to hell with writing and just read tonight while I drink and freeze to death. My motivation was here, and then just as rapidly vanished. I fail, I know.
Had another encounter with creepy car. Except, not the same car, and not in quite the same place, but otherwise exact same fucking behavior >_o It's days like this I wish I could just say fuck it and pack up and go the hell somewhere else.
Um. Was really hoping to work more on my knight story tonight, but that lack of motivation thing - and it sort of frustrates and depresses that this story is not as good as Always There because I have to bend/ignore so many rules to do what I want. I like knights, so I feel sort of shitty doing such a poor job with them. But, I sort of neglected a lot of important stuff the first time 'round, so I guess I shoud just get over myself. No doubt will at some point....perhaps it's more a matter of execution. I know mostly what goes down, but there are gaps and the'yve not seen fit to fill themselves in yet.
Hope chick to whom we sent flowers got them. We got no word that such was the case today, though with the funeral being tomorrow that is most understandable.
I have a sort of interesting article from the Tokyo Pop thingie I get, about cosplay and 'crossplay', and I was gonna scan it in (if the website didn't have it, I haven't looked yet) for you guys to read but since my roommate kinda sorta fixed our internet problem (as in, we have a new router, yet it still disconnects/reconnects as badly as the previous and I'm so FUCKING SICK of being the one to pay the goddamn bill when it's more than fair that after what, two years, we switch? Whatever, not going to piss myself off tonight) which now has fucked up my printer so I have to fuck with that >_o and don't fucking feel like it. I'll do it tomorrow while I'm cleaning the house and putting away the christmas stuff (cause if I don't, it'll still be out in July).
Of late none of my music pleases me. Generally this means there is something particular I want to hear, but I've not yet figured out what that something is. Ah, well. Eventually I will hear it.
Peeps have been talking about writing exercises a whole lot, and I remembered a really fun, simple one my prof had us do in the one writing class I took. Take the story you are working on/struggling with and all the primary characters. For each one, write down everything he has in his pockets (like, would regularly have in his pockets) or pocket-equivalent.
Like I said, it's fun. I still do it sometimes when I'm fighting with a character. If you know the kind of crap they carry around in the day to day -- you know them better than you think, and knowing the little things oft helps with the big stuff.
MSN's Boss to English Translator amuzed me, cause there are so many people we put up with in my job that talk exactly like that -- and the translations are so dead on it's as depressing as it is amusing. Personal sad but true favorites:
"I'm not sure if what you are suggesting is in alignment with our core competencies."
Translation: "What exactly do we do again?"
"This office is a family and my door is always open if you ever need to powwow with Papa Bear."
Translation: "I am a tool."
"I'll be out of the office for a couple hours with senior management, but you can reach me on my mobile."
Translation: "I'm playing golf."
"I'll be off-site and unreachable for the rest of the afternoon."
Translation: "I'm playing golf and I expect to be very, very drunk."
And that's all I got.
