Was supposed to go to a work party. Even my boss, out sick with her kid, is probably still going to go.

But, I hate the things. I usually go, make social and nice...but honestly I don't care. Most of those people are one of two things -- kissing ass for to help their ambitions to climb, or bored and willing to go. I have no aspirations to climb up the corporate ladder. I loathe, despise, and detest the business world with a black, bitter, burning passion. I really don't give a fuck if I'm looked down upon for not going to a fucking party. I'd rather be working on my stories.

I'll probably catch flack for it tomorrow, but *shrug* Every day, I care a little less.

Sammikins, I hope your day improved upon returning home.

Now, for all i say I want to write, I really want to finish my book. I'm rerreading The Deception of the Emerald Ring. Of the three Pink Carnation books out so far, it's my favorite.

Guess I should put my groceries away before I get too cozy, hmm. Maybe a shower. Then, who knows?

Oh, man, I see enough of my coworkers at work. Granted, they're nice enough people, but I did not go to the Christmas party and I did not go to any of the softball games during the summer and I don't attend the Friday 4:30 booze hour upstairs. Work is work and shouldn't be part of the social calendar, in my opinion.

Huh, though your book certainly looks interesting. ^___^ 19th century spies, ftw.

And look, I got off my ass and did some file uploading!

Motion City Soundtrack, A-L and Motion City Soundtrack, M-W . Shall get to the Phantom Planet... soonish. ^__^;; Though I have to admit, I've been stuck on The Hush Sound and haven't actually listened to this much yet.

I can't find fault with you; parties that aren't with your friends are awkward and stupid. :/

Yah for staying home and having me time! <3<3<3

My job has lots of 'mandatory fun,' but so far there is only one thing planned for non-work hours, and it is coming up next week. I've enjoyed all the free food, and casualish chillin' with the work peeps, but don't really want to spend non-work hours with them, even so. But, as it is a retirement party for a good friend, I shall go. I don't think anyone is going to social or career climb, though. That also makes a difference. I hope you find a better job, some day.

We appreciate that you value writing over work party.^_^

Enjoy your shower, and your book.^_^

I still like The Secret History of the Pink Carnation best, but really I love the whole series. Alas, I must wait for my library or the paperback to read The Seduction of the Crimson Rose.

I have never understood the need to socialize with coworkers outside of work. Granted, I'm on the antisocial side, but I like having definite control over who and what is a part of my free time because it is my free time. And there just aren't enough hours in the day to justify going to obligation parties or being in places that I don't want to be because some weirdo can't get enough of the work environment at work.

*cough* Which is my roundabout way of saying fuck 'em. ;3 Even if you go to some of them, missing out on others teaches them not to expect you for all of them.

Your night sounded infinitely better than work party would have been.

my favorite auther which LIKES to write

It is a rare luck for me, to be sure :)

I have bought your e-book Magic & Mischief- it is more handily for me, because I live far from the USA and prefer to read books on my Palm anyway.
