maderr: (Fuck it)

I'm really tired of being accused of cheating. I read the fucking rules, assholes. Prisoner has only sold 101 copies, and that's under 500. Christ, I just entered the contest to see if i couldn't spread my writing around a bit. You can have the fucking $5000.00

It is supremely fucking humiliating that the goddamn mods have to contact me to verify I'm not cheating. Ugh.

In unrelated news, I bought my self the audiobook for Lord John and the Private Matter *.*

Tomorrow, cleaning, shopping, adding stuff to website that I forgot.

Wow, unprofessional much? They are completely unbelievable. It makes it sound like they are fishing for a way to 'catch you out.' Grrrr!!! Bookhabit is officially on my ...list. It is so rare someone makes it on that list that it doesn't even have a name.

Um, yay audiobook? Oh! Our library has a bunch of audiobooks on mp3 players now. They come that way from publishers. You just put the earphones on, and hit play. I don't know if you use your library, but it seemed like something that would be handy for your bus commute.

Oh, and the website looks great! Still loving the little flowers. *snugs*

I think it's pretty damn dumb that a contest that was created to help aspiring writers gain notoriety is so... so... I can't even think of a good word for it. It's absurd.

On another note, I downloaded the first chapter (I never actually read it when you posted it on here) It's not my usual brand of writing, but I really like it. My plan is to buy the rest of the books you've put out so far next month. I can say now that Prisoner will be in that list (I wasn't really sure I wanted to read it, but after reading the first chapter, I really like it.)

Anyways, don't let the dumbasses of the world get you down. You're doing what you wanted to accomplish, and I think it's great. Keep up the good work.

hmmmmm...went over to bookhabit.com to check the comments...i think moonkitsune's comment was in response to ironpen, so i sense no accusations from that corner unless i'm mistaken (always possible), while bookhabit is trying to cover their own a** from jealous rivals who have no life and have picked you to attack because we, your loyal readers, ran over to support you (and caused a stampede that trampled all of these sore idiots)

don't worry about it, you're a great writer in my biased opinion and this is just one of the many stupid obstacles that'll be shoved in your way even when one day you become successful enough to live off your writing (oh my poor wallet will suffer ^^) and don't give up on the competitions just yet, it's great that your point is to try and draw in a larger audience -- let nothing stand in your way! (now i sound like a cheesy movie)

audiobook? i must be behind on the times...wanders off to figure out what an audiobook is exactly

*snort* It's not fair of them to pick on you just because most of us have already bought the book from Lulu. Do they find it unbelievable that your readers might actually, you know, vote if you ask them to? Honestly... they should have more faith in people.

I think people are a bit miffed that your book came out suddenly and all your fans appeared to support you just as quickly. I think it's because some of the aurthors do not have ways like LiveJournal to communucate with their fans, thus creating a stronger bond between the aurthor and their fans. There are always people who are going to be concerned that something amiss is going on if someone else is sucessful. I wonder if some of them are actually from other fans of other books who felt that it was wrong that their book was dropped down in rankings so suddenly by a book that came onto the sceen from what they belived was out of nowhere. I say, "Fuck em." No point in stressing over people you won't be able to win against because they are stubborn. Let them have their moment and them shove them off their little high horse. Let BookHabit take care of them, as they have been proving that they are doing. They have shown themselves to be in support of you and that if any of those complainers have actual proof, then they are free to do so. If not, then they can just suck on some lemons and deal.

I think its awesome they have to verify if you're cheating or not. It means you are SO AWESOME THAT YOU BLOW THEIR MINDS AND THEY CAN'T BELIEVE IT.

If you weren't so awesomely mature and utterly dissaproving of it, I'd offer to be your flame monkey.

wait, i'm confused. did you win and then they took it away???

Oh, heck no. There's still weeks of this left before a winner is picked. It just annoys me that people wasted no time in playing dirty, instead of doing what I do - pimping their work and getting the high scores that way.

THEY GOT ON YOU RIGHT AWAY???
clearly, they have no confidence in their pimping skillz, and would rather go for backstabbing.

assuming you got cleared by the mods (which i'm guessing you have, otherwise i'm pretty sure your fans would've bombed bookhabit in oblivion) you are going to win this thing, so then you can write for us forever and forever. and ever.

People SUCK, M. You know you didn't cheat, we know you didn't cheat, and the mods know you didn't cheat, so that's all that matters. Thoes people are stupid dumb-shits who are jealous that people like your works and not theirs.

I LOVE YOU, M. <3<3<3<3

Wow, pretty unbelievable -_-
At least you managed to convince the mods, even if other jealous twats are still going to throw a shitfit about it.

Just a lurker speaking up here.

After a bit of hunting around for this contest, I finally found the link and started browsing comments.
Needless to say, I was not pleasantly surprised by a few of them. See, I was under the impression that imagination and creativity were qualities to be applauded in an author.
Once I found the accusations of cheating, though, my jaw dropped open.

Conclusion? People suck, have sucked, and will continue sucking far into the future.
Conclusion the second? I enjoyed the hell out of Prisoner. Keep up the good writing!

Okay, Booklist or whatever is on my shiz list. Is it that odd for your slaves aka adoring fans to want to vote for you? People are just sore, sore losers. (Or they will be, when you trounce them. Heh) And really, it all means that you are absolutely amazing.

Don't feel bad about something you haven't done. Never that. You're just kickass.
