maderr: (WTF???)

Sheesh

Between the drama at Yaoi House and the massive incompetence that is Iris Print, I'm not sure wtf is going on with the slash world.

In vaguely related news, even being on vacation I cannot seem to write anything. I would bloody kill for inspiration right now *sigh*

Ignorance of said drama makes me very curious...>_>

(Is it bad that I was wondering what had happened to the periodic dose of maderr!fic? It didn't help that mizwatson's toe got in the way of fic too)

Hmm, the thing that I've seen peeps do in these cases is get some word prompts from peeps and do drabbles (under 100 words usually but sometimes more) - but I'm not sure what else might work :(

You know, there are times when I want to turn BND into a publshing house. We can't fuck up more than these other companies already have!

My sister and I discuss doing our own thing sometimes, cause yeah, it's hard to screw up more than all the others. At least we wouldn't find Jesus and decide man pr0n is badz0r -__-

and you all come across as sensible people with your feet on the ground instead of in the clouds as well. I mean seriously. did they NOT think of the nuts and bolts of business-running BEFORE they decided to jump into it?

[identity profile] unusualmusic.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
What food product do your muses like? I could tempt them with some?

/shrug Who knows. Just as long as slash doesn't go byebye. >.>

RL, business and sense rarely seem to go together!

So, no characters want to go on vacation or visit their family for you? That is mean of them!

Did you ever try the music shuffle meme? I only came across it the other day when I read what someone had written for it. Instructions, as far as I can remember, are set your iPod/mp3/computer on random shuffle in your music library and write anything inspired by the song while it is playing. (I think you are supposed to have a character in mind before you start.) Do this for five songs even if you only get a line or two for each. It sounded like an almost fun way to get something written.

This doesn't exactly relate directly to the suject, but I have a question. I know you write stories about nursery rhymes, and I was wondering if you did one for 'The Devil's Nine Questions' (even though that's more of a song than a nursery rhyme...) I thought I remembered reading one, but I'm probably misremembering. *shrug* Ah, well. If you could indulge me to tell me whether you did or not, it would be muchly appreciated.

[identity profile] maderr.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)

I do not know that one, so alas twas not I you read ^^;;

[identity profile] adlanna.livejournal.com 2008-05-12 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
"If you don't answer my questions nine/Sing ninety-nine and ninety/I'll take you off to hell alive/And you are the weaver's bonny."

It's actually a song, I think. So, not actually a rhyme (and there are more verses, I think.)

Just two more: Did you write stories for 'The Gallows Tree' or 'Queen of Hearts'?

Gallows goes like this:

"Come down, come down from that dreary gallows/I have your pardon from George the King/And in spite of all I'll make you mine/And crown you in the bloom of spring."

And Queen of Hearts like this:

"To the queen of hearts is the ace of sorrow/He's here today, he's gone tomorrow/Young men are plenty but sweethearts few/If my love leaves me what shall I do?"

Probably not, but it's been bugging me where I saw those stories, if I did indeed see them.

[identity profile] maderr.livejournal.com 2008-05-12 02:08 am (UTC)(link)

Yeah, none of those are mine. But, uh, do let me know if you find them ^^;;;

[identity profile] adlanna.livejournal.com 2008-05-12 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
I will. ^^' Although, they might have been dreams of mine that I never wrote down, and only half remember. And, if an idea for any of those hits you...;)

Ugh, stupid drama is stupid. It sucks that talented people keep having to deal with it.

With the inspiration, is the problem that you have no ideas, or you just can't get up the drive to write any of them?

[identity profile] adry2000.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
i am sorry to hear that.I never have that problem. my problem is that i have to many ideas.

why not ask someone to give you some ideas and i sure you will be able to write in no time.

As an official non-person (because I really don't want to join LJ, but I may cave yet) and complete stranger, I have no place to offer suggestions. But if I did, I'd back up those people who suggested taking drabble prompts and the like in an effort to spur your muses into action.
I'm also going to take it as given that shameless begging for work on particular stories will be fruitless, as I know what sort of terrible things tend to ensue when a story is forced.
Best of luck to ya.

I have too many readers these days to take drabble prompts. and that's not ego, simple fact.

I don't mind people asking. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not ^^

[identity profile] moonkitsune.livejournal.com 2008-05-12 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
You two? What is it that if you're in school or work, you use your writing as an escape from it and come up with ideas. At homes, there are just no need for distractions because you have so much time on your hand. The weather here isn't helping. Cold and wet weather just makes me sleep in all the time. I think I might have to do some chores or something just to get some energy used up. I feel like I'm turning into a vegtable here!

Since I have no idea what's going on, what's the whole thing going on with Yaoi House and Iris Print?

*snugs* Good luck with the writing. Maybe your brain just needs a little bit more downtime. *pets your brain*

Lots of drama all around. Be glad you're on vacation. I'll see if I can find you some inspirational materials. XD
