The best summation of what has been going down with Yaoi House is here

My new personal favorite part of this, however, is her method of dealing with the fallout:

She made a cute little video

Because that is so the most mature way to handle matters -__-

Speaking of people who like to hide from the problems they've created, instead of dealing with them as a professional (or at least as an adult), Iris Print is once more playing the silent game. I wonder what Dramatic Event has so consumed her this time that she's allowed her company to fall into disrepair. It's been over two months since she last said anything public (at leats to the best of my knowledge. Her blog on the site has been dead since March 3rd). Word is also going 'round she neglected to pay royalties to some of the writers.

All in all, extremely shitty performance. I do not follow all of this as closely as perhaps I should. I have a bad habit of mostly living in my own little world.

Let's hope we get no further drama from the other small print slash companies out there. Slash really doesn't need that sort of bad rap.

Stating the obvious at this point, but stay the fuck away from YH and IP. Yaoi House is in too tumultous a state at this point, and more important still -- she was making money by selling AnK fanfiction. I'm sorry, that's fucking crap. Unacceptable and contemptable. Iris Print nearly died once. She asked for help, got it, and now is doing the same thing all over again.

She's going into seclusion. High-larious. Thats the way to run a business.

Bipolar is no excuse for bad business practices. Sounds to me more like someone looking for an easy way out. And I say this as someone diagnosed with bipolar.

Wow, what a mess. As a diagnosed bi-polar I really resent the implication that being bi-polar gets you a free pass or makes you not responsible for your actions.

Wow, okay, wow..that is disgusting. Mixing up business with first a god-claim, then a mental illness, getting up in people's faces about ethics and contracts when you clearly aren't honoring your own and then having the nerve to 1) get upset about loyalty and 2) still have money issues come crashing down on people who were loyal to you until you screwed them over? That breaches SO many rules and laws in etiquette, business, ethics in general, business arg! Stuff like this just makes me so mad, though I suppose that's a little redundant at this point.

I don't know much about YH or IP or much about how they ran or distributed merchandise...were they e-books, are actual printed copies?

This whole thing with Kira Takenouchi is just weird. I always had problems with it. She writes fan fiction of a series that's copy-righted....how can she make money out of publishing those works? Isn't she violating copy-right laws? Sure, Ai no Kusabi is copy-righted in Japan, but still, the laws still apply, right? Considering the fact that the series is getting translated and published in English just this year, this whole situation with how she and her site got started is just very iffy. It just always felt really weird to me that she is charging people money to read her FAN fiction, not original works, that I understand, but FAN FICTION. Just that fact gives me a very negative impression of her as a person.

Bad Business

I should have definitely listened to you all. I had an issue with canceling my account which I stupidly signed up for out or curiosity. When I saw that my account had been charged a couple bucks I emailed them and was told that the emails that I exchanged earlier did not count as canceling my subscription. I was called greedy and told that obviously I was a minor and that they would be contacting my parents. That is laughable, along with how the whole process was conducted. Apparently their different business functions do not communicate with one another and I had to email a specific email address as specified in the terms. Why is it so damn difficult to cancel and why the unprofessional attitude and threats when I have an issue with being charged unfairly? It is principle not cheapness, and meanness, and horribleness, or obnoxiousness. They then had the nerve to say I was banned as if I was ever going to mess with them again. They are ridiculous and I wish I had listened to you all.
