I want to go back to sleep *yawn* Something woke me up at one-ish this morning, and it took forever to fall asleep again, but I'm so used to getting up early five days a week, I woke up at 5:30 again and could not go back to sleep.
Ah, well. I have writing to do anyway ^_^
Am slowly working on Duke's story, but drable idea struck me.
Kohar scowled as looked into his empty jewel case. Gone. Every last one of them was gone.
He was going to kill the bastard.
Tugging on his clothes, stamping into his boots, swearing loudly at the mess of curls he could at present do nothing to restrain, he stormed from his bedroom to go kill a certain Captain.
"Give them back," he said tersely, bracing his hands on his hips and glaring at Nerek.
Who stared back blandly, the very picture of innocence. Around them, a few bold soldiers snickered, though they were quick enough to find other things to do when Kohar glared at them.
"Good morning," Nerek said, eyes full of mirth and mischief.
"Give back my combs," Kohar said slowly and precisely.
Nerek only grinned. "No."
Kohar glared. "No is not the correct answer."
"What's the point in all that hair if you put it up all the time?"
"It gets in my way while I'm working, and you aren't the one who has to comb out all the tangles and knots. Give back my combs, you thickheaded soldier or I will cast a spell you won't soon forget."
In reply, Nerek simply closed the space between them and kissed him soundly.
He didn't think he'd ever get used to the fact they were lovers now. Nothing and everything had changed. The strangest thing of all was perhaps this playfulness Nerek exhibited, though maybe it shouldn't surprise him too much the idiot still indulged in boyish pranks.
By the time Nerek released him, Kohar had almost forgotten what they were discussing. Not that he'd admit it.
"I'll give them back tomorrow," Nerek said.
Kohar blinked. Combs, right. "You had better give them back sooner than that," he said sharply, scowing for good measure.
Nerek grinned, combing through the mass of curls spilling over Kohar's shoulders.
He'd had no idea Nerek liked his hair so much, until very recently. It was strange, but in a good way -- something else he had no intention of ever admitting, even under pain of incubus.
"Tomorrow," Nerek said again, still grinning, like he probably knew a bit of what Kohar was thinking, but knew better than to outright admit.
"See that you do," Kohar said, and spun away before they wound up doing something that would really set the castle talking.
