Date: 2008-07-23 11:00 pm (UTC)Have pondered Robin Hood type stuff before, but i can't do historical fiction for shit. And I always wanted to pair Scarlet with the Sheriff of Nottingham, since it might be cool to unvillian him just for variety's sake.

Date: 2008-07-23 11:09 pm (UTC)Now would this hypothetical Sherrif/Scarlet pairing be during or after the days of the Merry Men?

Date: 2008-07-23 11:12 pm (UTC)I have no idea. My knowledge of Robin Hood is regretfully restricted to mostly bad hollywood movies >_< If you have some good sources to rec, I'll take'em. Which would be better, you think. During or after?

Date: 2008-07-23 11:20 pm (UTC)Seriously, the most thorough place is the wiki page for it - looking up the individual characters helps sort things out XD
During the main story, the sheriff has always been that dastardly villain that gets pwned by Robin and his gang. Putting a more realisic face to the character is something which hasn't hapened much yet :(
Though Russel Crowe is going to "portray a more noble sheriff in the upcoming Nottingham by Ridley Scott who disapproves of the actions of his corrupt king, with Robin Hood portrayed as being less virtuous". (wiki link)

Date: 2008-07-23 11:12 pm (UTC)Besides, Ivanhoe holds it's own and it TOTALLY messes up historical time line.

Date: 2008-07-23 11:14 pm (UTC)Heh. Mostly it's just setting/period stuff. But I'm not opposed to winging it, if no one minds me butchering history, and probably in woefully american style >.>;;;; Then again, no one UK side has killed me yet for my Regency or my dwtd Duke.
