the problem with at least half the stories I write is that I have no freakin' clue about many aspects of them. For example: I am working on one story that deals heavily w/almost every aspect of the occult and such. I have another story which takes place almost entirely at sea. If anyone can reccomend reliabe sites about the following, I would be gratefully and eternally in your debt: alchemy, withcraft, sorcery (and related subjects), ships and pretty much anything related to living at sea for an extended period of time

Dude, the occult and witchcraft have always been maelable subjects... I mean, in the end its up to you. Look at the Japaense, they research the hell out of stuff and in the end abuse it to their own uses. Sephiroth? Jewish mysticism what? Give me some more background on your story and I will help you out.

Besides, google was designed for that type of research. Otherwise try www.ask.com.

you already know the story, idgit. it's the occult one you kept comparing to weiss kreuz, biznatch. right now I'm mostly looking for alchemical stuff, that's the hardest to come by. and I have tried google and all, the problem is that I'm having a hard time determining the reliability of various sites.

Okay history major, here's the sinny from an English major. What the hell are you doing worrying about the "reliability" of the sites your finding about alchemy?? Even if someone is spouting bullshit, if it's COOL bullshit, then why not make it true in the world of your story.
