It makes me sad that it's already the ninth, and I'm barely getting to enjoy my favorite month. My LJ is still way too summer, but it's going to have to suffer awhile longer.

For my family: Left my phone at work

Am so fucking tired of working Saturdays, but I can't just not do it - the money helps, and the work needs to get done, and I have time off in Nov so I can last that long, right? -__- I'd kill for a quiet weekend, though. Hopefully Sunday will be quiet, but I'm not holding my breath.

Sammikins and I, upon occasion, will play a game of sorts - I will text her lyrics or a verse of a poem, and she'll text back the next portion. Or she starts it. I was actually going to text her the start of a story we both like, but never got the chance:

The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge.

Now to see if I can get some work done *sigh*

Well, I guess that explains why you haven't called me about the whole fire at work thing. ^_^ (Which, by the by, I'm sorry I missed earlier. I'd just gotten back from lunch about 30 minutes or so before you called. ^^;;)

You know, if work ever gets too stressful, you could always take a page out of the customer's book? Does going to jail for arson qualify as vacation time?

oh yeah, RE: our little game
I almost texted you some lyrics today, can't remember now what they were though. /fail

You, who so well know the nature of my soul, will not suppose, however, that I gave utterance to a threat.

[goes back to deep-cover lurking, and maybe rereading some Poe...]

AT LENGTH I would be avenged; this was a point definitively settled -- but the very definitiveness with which it was resolved precluded the idea of risk. I must not only punish, but punish with impunity.
I have a deathly fear of being buried alive and to read this just shivers me to the bone. Sounds like a great game to play.
*also goes off to re-read parts of her Complete Works of Poe book*

A wrong is unredressed when retribution overtakes its redresser. It is equally unredressed when the avenger fails to make himself felt as such to him who has done the wrong.

I love Edgar Allan Poe!
