I would just like to say
Feb. 10th, 2009 09:04 pmThat 97,000 words into Bound, and a little over 100,000 still to go, I am very proud of this story and so far extremely happy with it. If anyone tries to bash this story when I'm done, or nitpick, I will likely lose my temper in a way I have not done in at least a decade. I adore DwtD, Sandstorm pleases me, but I think the world of Prisoner will always be my baby. Peple can suck the joy out of the rest of my stories, but no one will take Prisoner.
Though, writing Bound, I keep fighting an urge to do a drabble for Beraht & Dieter I've wanted to do for some time. I think I may slack off tonight and do that--especially since tomorrow I have to be a cleaning machine, as my guests are arriving a week early.
But, it's rare I actually just stop and enjoy my own stories. As hard as this story is, and despite the fact it constantly intimidates me, I love it muchly. I just hope everyone else does, as well. Given the track record with Midnight, I worry, but my readers so far have approved.

Date: 2009-02-11 02:32 am (UTC)I'm also looking forward to Bound, as much as I am intrigued by and love your other universes . . . Prisoner remains my favorite.
(As for Midnight, I personally enjoyed it despite any errors in it.)

Date: 2009-02-11 03:05 am (UTC)I'm glad you enjoy Bound so much. Prisoner seems to be your most popular work, so I wouldn't worry. That said, I will admit that, while I like Prisoner a lot, DWTD and Sandstorm are tied for my favorite series of yours. I find it funny since your own opinion is the exact opposite. I still think Prisoner is amazing, and it's obviously your masterpiece up till now, and I can't wait for Bound.
On a totally different note, speaking of Sandstorm: are you done in that verse? At least as far as the main story goes? I reread it recently and was wondering.

Date: 2009-02-11 04:05 am (UTC)Prisoner is probably one of my least popular, judging by sales and numbers and stuff.
I'm not done with Sandstorm, no. I've got Sugar & Spice still to complete, and I have toyed with the idea of going further back in Tavamara's history, and there is always the temptation to play with Sahayl's children. Plus, there's an island nation in that world I want to toy with.

Date: 2009-02-11 06:03 pm (UTC)Um, yeah. My early edition of (okay, don't hit me, I was much younger at the time) Mercedes Lackey's "Arrows of the Queen" had a terrible mood-shattering typo in what was supposed to be one of the most dramatic and tragic scenes in the entire book.
I mean, having someone cry out "Oh Coddess!" kind of spoils the heart-breaking setup, don't you think?

Date: 2009-02-11 04:11 am (UTC)You know, it's funny--Dieter and Beraht are my least favorite of your couples, and yet you still got me to like them in the end. Their love is so sharp and violent, and it just works somehow. Remember how much Dieter bothered me? :)

dabble
Date: 2009-02-11 05:28 am (UTC)Anyway, I'm still working on a dabble in my head about Iah and Sol. I kinda feel bad about Iah loosing his eyes and so I kinda wanted Iah to get his eyes back. So anyway, the outline is that Iah or Sol accidently helped someone who turned out to be a god or a witch or something powerful. As a reward, it gave Iah new eyes. It is set about 20 years or so in the future...
Anyway, the problem is that i haven't worked out how, what happened, and where did Sol or Iah helped this person/it.
Anyway, good luck with ur story!

Date: 2009-02-11 06:09 am (UTC)also want to say something i thought of about your previous post,
if you are having trouble getting/staying asleep see if a cup of hot (no caffeine) tea or some hot chocolate and a wind down period, say of 30 min prior to bed if you can afford the time, helps.
also, self meditation, even if it fails it usually puts people to sleep, if it works you should be relaxed and some of the stress should, at least temperately, be eased.

Date: 2009-02-11 07:00 am (UTC)Well I love the Prisoner universe but as I live where shipping cost would made the price for the print copy is insane anyway, I admit to limiting myself to purchasing your ebooks that are not up online so I can enjoy ALL your works
Can't wait to see this

Date: 2009-02-11 02:35 pm (UTC)You're a fantastic writer. You're practically my role model now (as creepy as that sounds), especially because you don't brush off people who like your work.
I'm glad that you're enjoying yourself so much in writing Bound. Plot-wise so far, Prisoner is my favourite work of yours, but I have a fondness for Sabre, from The Perfect Son fairytale. :)
Midnight was brilliant, especially with the adding/changing of the draugr. One of my favourite things about you is how you can take existing concepts and take totally original twists on them.
For one thing I keep telling my friends about your Knights series- the one where necromancers aren't quite as evil as previously thought.

Date: 2009-02-11 09:16 pm (UTC)I bought the download version of Midnight and really enjoyed reading it. Your characters were strong and unique, the plot was interesting and fun, and I was so busy reading I never even noticed the typos.
The only reason I can think of why Prisoner might not sell as well as some of the others stories is because of Dieter and Beraht's unique form of bruise inducing romance. I like it though, because it makes for some really interesting sex. ^_~
I'm eagerly awaiting Bound, because you post these little bits and entice us with plot development yet-to-come, and I can't wait to see what happens!
