Heart Heart Heart this book. Even better than Shadow of the Lion. It had everything I like and then some. Italy, magic, Erik, evil russian demon, more magic, Benito, Manfred, cool women, and for good measure it throw s in greek mythology.

'Tis by Mercedes Lackey, Eric Flint, and Dave Freer. If you want, I can bring the first (Shadow of the Lion) one to you tomorrow.

LOL... oh... Mercedes Lackey... yes, I need to get around to reading the other set of books she has published. (I've pretty much read all of the Valdemar series though, and own most of them as well)

I've only read Joust, Exhile's Honor, and the Shadow...books. I want to read her other books, but they're all like sets of trilogies and I can never find a complete set. But any you'd reccomend particularly?

Hmm... The Last Herald Mage was the first trilogy of hers that I read, followed by the Owl Mage trilogy, Mage Winds trilogy, Mage Storms, Mage Wars...

Hmm... the Heralds of Valdemar Arrows series: Arrows of the Queen, Arrow's Flight, and Arrows Fall are the first ones she wrote. They explain quite a lot of things. Then the Mage Wars trilogy comes around 4000 years before the Arrows trilogy but they explain a few more things before Mage Winds and Mage Storms. (When I first read the LHM trilogy, I had to guess at quite a bit.) I also recommend her stand alone ones - Take a Thief and By The Sword.

I read them all in a helter skelter sort of order.... Needless to say, I had to piece information together (plus I didn't know half the characters they were referring to!). XD... I think i'll stop... I believe I've been rambling.

Ehh, yeah, just read Arrows and Mage Wars first to get overviews and then Last Herald Mage. In my opinion they are the ones that get referred to the most.

I've read all but the most recent of the Valdemar series. It's best to read them as they came out. It helps things make better sense.

I have The Heralds of Valdemar(arrow's), The Last Herald-Mage, & The Mage Wars series. I also have By The Sword which is best to read before mage wars. If maderr wants, I can bring some of them over tomorrow.
