A forum on the nanowrimo site is discussing what's been done in fantasy. The general consensus is that everything vampire has been done - there's no new/creative way to do them.

I think I should get a few honorable mention points for Embrace, but maybe I'm biased. And of course I'll now be obligated to work on that, just to prove the forum wrong.

Yes, I'm bored.

Vampirism is, indeed, over-used. Heh, you definitely should tell them about "Embrace" though because how often do you see vampires as pets to humans instead of the other way around?

'Course, considering the end of the last chapter you have posted, I'm beginning to wonder who's really the pet with those two. ^_~

Hopefully it hasn't been done too often. I've never seen it, so I guess I get a few points.

Mwahahahaha.

I think vampires should go back to the scary, disgusting creatures they used to be, before Anne Rice sunk her teeth into them. Ooh, punny!

Bad Pun! No cookie.

Sadly, that would be a twist wouldn't it?

Oh! Idea!

This will take pondering.

Yes, I've got an idea too. *rubs hands evilly*

And heeeey. Gimme that damn cookie!

But seriously, I think I'd rather read about a gruesome vampire obsessing over a frightened human than a seductive bastard actually getting said human. You know? But that could just be me.

*grin* and here I thought that I was going to do something new and creative to the vampire legend *laugh* Though if they're putting *THAT* up, they're definitely challenging me to actually use that idea for the nanowrimo *heh* though really, I was going to do that already so *shrug* just now to figure out a decent story around my trio...

When I was twelve years old, I created a vampire character for a book that was never written. He was sidekick to the main character, who rescued from his planet that was about to blow up. Due to some humorlously funny, yet supposedly tragic events, he turned into a pile of dust that the main character stuffed into a shampoo bottle for later burial. His name was Gus, he had a large afro, and buckteeth. Yes, buckteeth. I've always wanted to see a vampire with buckteeth, but no one was humoring me. =( So, if you write a vampire with buckteeth that constantly gets in the way of a meal, you will have definetly written something new under the sun.
