maderrI try too hard sometimes, I think, and work myself into a tizzy over stories. I *know* this one is okay, or will be once I stop being a baby and finish it. But I've worked so hard at, and changed so many things, that I've convinced myself it sucks.
Even though Sky and my sister liked the first few pages. Bah. Sammie will get it today, because she's the only one allowed to read my crappy stuff, and if she tells me I'm an idiot I will finish it tonight and send it off for final beta'ing.
Sorry. I meant to have it posted yesterday. But assuming all goes well, it will be up tomorrow.
I also can't seem to settle on a freakin' fairytale. So far I have the first five pages of rewrites for The Princess and the Pea, Twelve Dancing Princesses, Hansel and Gretel, The Little Mermaid, and a whacked-out spin off of Sleeping Beauty that Ki-chan for some reason adores. But I can't settle on any of them long enough to finish the damned things. I know it seems like I never do much writing (not nearly as much as I should), but I am always poking at something.
Meh. I wrote 20+ pages of The Knight and the Statue, and need only a page or two more if Sammie says 'yay' and not 'wtf is this crap?'
Anyway. Trouble with fairytales. I think my coping mechanism is to start something new everytime I have trouble with other stories. I really need to find a new mechanism. Because this morning I woke up with The Pied Piper running about in my head. And someone named Magellan has been bothering me. No idea who the fuck he is, except that he's a smartass.
Christ I need to shut up. This is what happens when Megan wakes up at four o'clock and has nothing better to do than fret and/or type.
I can't sleep. I don't know what it is, but since I have moved into this house I consistently wake up between 3-4 every morning and never completely go back to sleep. I really really really wish it would stop >_< Even on the weekends, I wake up earlier than I like. I used to sleep in 'til nine or ten, now I wake up at 7:30 and can't go back to sleep. 7:30! On the weekend! CRIMINAL.
On the brightside, it's supposed to get up to 78 degrees today. AND AND AND my dad ^_^ bought me the rest of Heat Guy J!!! So sometimes this week/weekend I will watch the rest, and then convince Sarah she needs to watch it so I have an excuse to watch it all over again ^_~
Need more coffee.
