Just thirteen days and I'll be on a plan to Europe. I just wish I was certain I had enough money for this trip. Meh.

Spent the day vaguely plotting out said trip, but I'm hesitatn to do anything more concrete b/c [livejournal.com profile] amasugiru mentioned that she wanted to add/change something. But then she never said what so I'll have to harass her later. But for now we're going to spen 26-30 in Scotland and Ireland, then be back in England for new year's, then the 1-5 or so we'll spend in France (because I demand at least a day and a half at least for the Louvre, not to mention Versailles, that place where Napolean's corpse is, the Tower, Notre Dame...I could easily spend the whole month in just France) then it's on to Italy and wherever else the 7th-10 (the 6th is for traveling, and room for error). That's as far as I've gotten, now I need to work on travel and all. Gomes refuses to fly to Italy (which would be about 30 bucks) so we'll have to take the train (still very cool, slightly more expensive. I think I was ordered to take the train and see the damned mountains anway).

The only thing I'm disappointed about it that we probably won't be able to do Germany - I wanted to do Greece to but mostly Germany. My ancestors are from there, and we had a hand in building the Hindenburg so I was kinda hoping to at least see the country. But that's just me being silly.

Alright, I have two short stories that must be finished before I leave - one is for my secret santa fanfic thing, the other is a story for [livejournal.com profile] jagen13's What Are You Doing New Year's Eve fic challenge. I'm also working on Mythos, so stop glaring Gomes.

Tell Gomes that I hope she wants to sleep on a train to Italy, because the trains over the French border are pieces of shit, so you better dress VERY VERY WARMLY because they have a tendency to STOP in the middle of the countryside and they are not heated. So get yourself a sleeper car or cozy up in a blanket and sleep on a bench seat. HAVE FUN WITH THAT. It's about four hours or so from the French-Italian border to Rome, but if you do it right you can go to Venice and Florence on the way down.

HAVE FUN :)

I don't particularly mind the overnight thing, it would save on a hostel - then again a flight plus a hostel might be cheaper. We shall see. If nothing else I'll drug gomes and then get plane tickets.

AS a side note if you do take the train and get a sleeper car.. make SURE the door is locked and locked tight. We had a guy break into our car in the middle of the night. Six girls fast asleep and I woke up to see some guy standing in the middle staring at me. so yeah, lock the door. and check under the beds to.. there was either a bum or a dead guy under one of the other student's bed... But other than that I loved the train -_-;; From Pisa to Paris the landscape is beautiful!

They are Tools of Satan. I have four (though I only ever applied for two of them myself. loooong story). Still, they're handy for crap like this.
