I loved the movie. It was so very much like the old cartoons - the smartass, the cheezy and not ashamed to be cheezy, the awful jokes (oh, god, there was one that made the entire theatre groan it was *awesome*), the cuteness.
My only mild complaints are that April has become anorexic and they never once did anything with the original theme song, which would have been cute.
Also, were Raph and Leo always that goddamn slashly because christ, I don't think the movie was trying to hide it
I want to see it again.
Okay, todays plans are to clean my fsking house because I've let it fall into a truly disgusting state, and then to read the Gun Shy chapter Sammie sent me ^__^ And then to drabbles.
Speaking of writing,
twilight_angel wrote an awesome Prisoner fic.Check it out! Mmm, Dieter biting.
Need coffee now.

Date: 2007-03-24 04:18 pm (UTC)"They're totally hot for each other."
"Dude, they are not!" Michelangelo protested. "She likes the werewolf, not the vampire."
"Nope," Donatello said firmly. "Look at the way she keeps throwing him into the wall. With the wolf? She's always nice and polite and mellow and boring. And him? He's Mr. Calm and Collected until she shows up. All that anger is just sexual tension. Hot for each other. Studies have confirmed such things. They're in denial."
Michelangelo looked doubtfully at the tv screen. "So they're totally in love but prove it by beating the shit out of each other?"
Donatello's reply was cut off by a sewer-shaking crash from the training room, and the distant voices suddenly became loud, clear shouts as Raphael and Leonardo's training match exploded into yet another argument. The force of someone hitting the wall caused the cups drying in the rack to fall to the floor.
"They really like trying to kill each other, dude," Michelangelo said, warily eying the room where his brothers were training. A weird expression took over his face, and Donatello knew it was on his own as well, that they'd just though the exact same thing.
He shook his head. "Let's watch Wheel of Fortune."
"Yeah, dude."

"Turtle Soup"
They’d disarmed each other at least an hour ago and had been pummeling on the other’s arms, legs, face, and shell since then. They weren’t really sparring so much as working off their aggression at this point, the training room in pieces (again) and the door wedged shut with the debris. Donatello and Michelangelo could’ve busted in, but Raphael figured that Master Splinter had stopped them. He could almost hear his sensei’s reasoning: “No, my sons. They need this. Let them be.” But Raphael knew the other three were probably lurking nearby.
He grunted as Leonardo head-butted him again, his vision swimming. Raphael stumbled into an awkward crouch, trying to kick out his brother’s legs, but Leonardo managed to fall into a backwards somersault, landing with a sway across the room.
By now, they’d been fighting for a couple hours with no clear winner. As he inelegantly ran his shoulder into Leonardo’s chest-shell, Raphael wasn’t sure he needed a winner anymore.
Leonardo made an “oof” sound as he fell against the wall, sliding down to the ground. Off-balanced, Raphael fell on top of him before rolling to his side to pant. He lay in a half-sprawl position leaning against the wall and his brother.
“Giving up already?” he mocked, his breaths coming too fast.
“No,” Leonardo panted back. “Merely...taking a short rest before we finish this.”
“Yeah, okay, whatever.” He swatted at Leonardo’s leg. “Ready whenever you are.”
“Don’t push your luck. I’m not done with you yet.” He paused. “You know you’re an asset to the team, but your recklessness is still – ”
“Always lecturing,” he retorted as he felt fingers brush against his own. “What’s with you and lecturing? You’d think you – ”
“I don’t lecture,” he shot back just as Raphael grabbed his hand in his own. “I teach.”
“No...” Their fingers slotted between each other’s. “Sensei teaches. You lecture.”
“Whatever. Stop being pissy that you were losing right then.”
“You know what? I’m gonna make turtle soup of you when you finally get up,” Raphael threatened, his hand tight in his brother’s.
Leonardo held on just as tightly, the beginnings of a smile in his voice. “You just try it.”
Raphael couldn’t help but smile back. “Yeah. Turtle soup.”

Date: 2007-03-24 04:19 pm (UTC)I haven't read any reviews, but yeah. All I could think was that it was just like the old cartoons. I mean there's no complicated, intense plot or whatall - but there shouldn't be. These are the Ninjaturtles ^__^ And they were, and I was most happy.

Date: 2007-03-25 01:29 am (UTC)Seriously, though, the fact that people mostly write it as a joke does NOT make up for the fact that they wrote it in the first place. (Although compared to the pedophilic one, the BDSM one was practically tolerable.)
