Kingdom Hospital
Mar. 3rd, 2004 11:08 pm*offers sacrifice at altar to Stephen King*
King is the man, his stuff is the world's greatest crack. Kingdom Hospital just gave me a whole new reason to be happy I get Wednesdays off.
And holy fuck me, I had no idea an anteater could be that hella creepy.
*happy dance*

Date: 2004-03-03 10:06 pm (UTC).. you obviously have not heard the story of what happened when I was made to see 13 Ghosts... Matt was sitting next to me and when he shifted his feet slightly he accidenly stepped on my foot. I SCREAMED and went into the fetal position in my seat. People were NOT pleased. I was almost sobbing.

Date: 2004-03-04 05:16 am (UTC)Fine. But you have to deal with the restults! I don't tent to handle fear well.. like say, not wanting to sleep because I was expecting to open my eyes and see an anteater looming in front of me...

Date: 2004-03-04 08:36 am (UTC)*snerk* you watched that all on your own. when I left to watch it, I was certain you were doing stuff on line. Not once did it ever occur to me you'd watch it as well. I still remember your freaking out when your dad watched Silence of the Lambs.
and I love watching scary stuff with people that freak out, my poor brother is scarred for life b/c of some of the shit I've done to him. *evil grin*
*grumbles just a bit*
Date: 2004-03-03 10:41 pm (UTC)it has EVERYTHING to do with Lars Von Trier.
^___________________^
the original 'die Regie' as "The Kingdom" is available in the US and Canada as rentals at coolish rental places; as with "The Ring" - okay, so there's an english version for less arty snob types, but maaaaaan, the original just has dat SUMPIN. is soooo good.
my grumble is - King wrote ZILCH, save a tack in about his poor-widdle van accident. am watching this and it's nearly a verbatum lift from the original although the guy from Sweden who worships his volvo and HAAATES the Dutch is now from Boston? ah well, whatever. is spooky, yes, is great, yes, but it AIN'T at King's door. nosah, go go wacky gadget Von Trier!

Date: 2004-03-03 11:54 pm (UTC)Just out of sheer curiosity, how did you even stumble across my post?
And credit where credit is due - I honestly didn't know he was just remaking a story. So fulls props to this Von Trier guy, because I honestly do love the story even if what I'm watching is a remake. I still give props to King, b/c his supplement book was kickass and he has made significant contributions. But as I said, credit where credit is due.
On a sidenote, I've seen both the Ring movies and I'm going to have to vote that I liked the american take more. I'm still confused as to why my Japanese teacher though the Jap version was scary.

Date: 2004-03-04 02:06 pm (UTC)lol. no harm done, I was just curious. And I am sorry for my inaccuracy, I know what it's like to see the work of one credited to another.
